BREAKFAST WITH BLAKE LIVELY - Cannes Film Festival 2016
The Age of Adaline + the past
lycanthrope-kasey:
“Fine, I did, you can have that one. Oh, so that’s what I sometimes hear, 3am smothering sessions.
Startled for a second she eyes the blonde “You have it on tape? Hand it over. That’s just, no, not fair.” there’s a small smirk, though she’d never want to admit it “Remind me, torture me, be annoying – all of the above. It also melts things, burns people, leaves us a hot sweaty mess with dry mouths. See, not all good. – No. That’s the last thing that’s going to happen, just like Lucas actually not snoring – there’ no chance in hell, lady.”
“…Let’s put it this way. The smothering sessions you hear often have a happy ending. But seriously Kasey, you should start using the headset we bought you when we got back together.”
“Hey, you know the household rules: Tapes for hugs. I will; remind you, torture you and be annoying. You know why? Because you’re the only one who understands. –So? Get a sunblock, life’s hard.”
I can feel your heart beat through my shirt This was all I wanted, all I want.
lycanthrope-kasey:
“Well shit, Amelia. I thought I’d avoid the morbid track for once but hey, that’s got to have some upsides to it – no more Lucas snoring. See. Win-win.” “I think I’ve had enough sentimental moments for a lifetime. I legit cried two years ago, so I’m good. I almost forgot about that… – we should do that again. At least the tequila part because you know, we could use it. That’s a pretty big ‘that’s it’, huh? God, you’re like a ball of fucking sunshine and I hate you. No. I’m refusing to open up on the grounds of being drunk. No more expressing myself to you.”
“To be fair, you asked about the downsides. Good point. But... But... It’s not 3 in the morning if I’m not punching him for it and/or smothering him with my pillow.”
“Yeah, I know it was two years ago, I have it all on tape.” Amelia said casually, holding back a smirk. “That’s why I’m here, to remind you of all kinds of things. It was a life-changing that’s it. Okay, and what’s wrong with sunshine? It keeps you warm and the warmth feels good against your skin, everything is bright... You say that now, but we’ll see in about two hours. You’ll be begging me for a hug just like I have to beg Lucas to stop snoring at 3AM.”
So I run, hide and tear myself up Start again with a brand new name
originalblonde-rebekah:
Rebekah chuckled. “That seems like such a lifetime ago, doesn’t it?” she asked, only somewhat rhetorically. “I haven’t thought of them in ages.” She tilted her head to the side. “And I don’t intend to start.” She winked.
“I haven’t even thought about it.” The Original shrugged. “I just woke up today and decided that it might be nice to just…have one ready. You know how impulsive I can be.” Rebekah bit her lip in thought as she continued thinking. “I think maybe in Reykjavik. That was where it all started. I think I’d want to honor that.” She laughed. “I’ll probably have a different idea tomorrow.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if it really happened a lifetime ago. --Too bad. I’ve always wondered which one is really the big brother.”
“We all knew you two would happen eventually. Reykjavik. It’d be great if you got married there. Right,” Amelia chuckled, biting her bottom lip. “Nothing in your life is constant but your love for him. Oh-- I have to write that down. For my wedding speech, of course. Which will be better than Lucas’. Hmpf.”
lycanthrope-kasey:
“Not the good looks you get to keep forever? The constant binge eating without getting the cellulite? Hey, can’t get alcohol poising; go you.”
“Did we step into a sentimental moment without realizing it? By we I obviously meant you. If you’re going to start talking about this town and you and Lucas meeting here, I’m going to take a long walk. This place gave me nothing but the urge to get out and I did that so, mission accomplished.”
“Thanks, Kas. I think you’re hot and pretty as well. --You did forget to mention having to spend the rest of my days without Kasey and Lucas by my side, woo. Fun, fun, fun.”
“We didn’t. But did you want to step into one? People always hear what they wanna hear, after all. And we haven’t had a moment since the tequila/rainbow incident of two months ago, so. No, I’m not gonna do that, calm down. Basically, I just wanted to say that before Mystic Falls I had no idea that friendship and love in general existed, I didn’t know the importance of family either. Now I do. That’s it. Whatever you say. I’ll get it all out of you when you get drunk anyway,”

lucasthewerewolf:
Lucas tugged at his bow tie, staring in the mirror as he smoothed the fabric out with his hand. His beard and short hair were trimmed to look slightly more presentable, and his shoes were polished so much that he could see his reflection better in them than in the mirror. The clock above the bedroom door said it was three hours until the big moment. Everyone was doing last minute preparations, but he’d ask for some time alone. They were about to take a big step, and Lucas wanted to have his thoughts together. He wanted to remember the way his heart skipped and his cheeks hurt from smiling.
But mostly, he just didn’t want anyone around when he broke tradition.
Amelia had been heavily guarded by a variety of their friends, no one dare letting Lucas anywhere near the bride while she was in her wedding dress. No one understood that he and Amelia weren’t traditional, and that if they were going to have bad luck because he caught sight of her in a dress, then they clearly didn’t know the hardships they’d already overcome. A superstition wasn’t going to keep him from marrying this woman, and neither was an army of bridesmaids, groomsmen, or anyone else that attempted to keep him from surprising the girl he loved.
When he no longer heard rustling from outside the master bedroom, he poked his head out the door. Thanks to super hearing, he knew nobody was coming up the stairs, and no one intended to leave any of the other upstairs rooms either. He was in the clear.
It took him only three strides to get to his old bedroom door, shut tight and probably locked. He tapped on it three times with his knuckles, clasping his hands together in front of him as he waited.
He didn’t hear any response besides the click of the lock. A few more seconds passed before he turned the knob, pushing the door open cautiously once he found it had been unlocked. What he didn’t expect was to see a gown almost the size of the bedroom, worn as if Amelia were a princess. Then again, he wasn’t so sure she wasn’t. The way her hair had been lifted and curled out of her face, the way her cheeks blushed and her eyes sparkled. Was he sure he wasn’t dreaming?
“You look…” How did she look? He couldn’t find a word to describe how breathtaking she was, standing in his old bedroom, dressed for a ball. Hopefully he would be the only one with her glass slippers at the end of the night. His eyes remained fixated on her for the longest time before he finally was able to shake himself from his stupor. Right. There was a reason for being here.
“Can I steal you for a moment?” Might as well get to the point before he stood there with his mouth open like an idiot any longer. He didn’t want her rethinking her decision to say yes.
The slim fingers glided over the delicate petals of blue hydrangeas and white roses– a delightful combination selected specially for her bridal bouquet. The way her pale fingers moved also indicated that she wasn’t freaking out three hours before the ceremony. On the contrary, she was seated on the windowsill in Lucas’ old room, enjoying the pleasant thrill of excitement that coursed through her body. As far as she knew, all her bridesmaids were scattered around the house, solving yet another inevitable wedding crisis. Apparently, it was going to rain as the frustrated Melanie had informed her earlier. Let it rain, the bride thought, lifting her gaze. Looking at her reflection in the window, she caught herself smiling in a silly manner. Slightly overwhelmed, the woman pressed her hand to her chest, as if trying to calm her racing heart. The tips of her fingers ghosted over the simple teardrop diamond necklace that hung above her cleavage line. The strapless top had a sweetheart neckline that revealed just enough cleavage for her future husband and no one else. While the elegant corset was pure white in color, it was covered in silver embroidery in beautiful patterns. Sliding her hand further down, the bride learned that the corset hugged her curves perfectly and sat lower than the natural waistline where it poofed out in tiers with mountains of tulle. Hidden underneath the long white skirt was a pair of Louboutins, Amelia’s something blue. Something new was in her hair, a diamond clip which was a gift from her maker. It wasn’t like she needed something old because according to Damien, Amelia herself was something old. However, her favorite something was the necklace fastened around her neck, courtesy of Lucas’ mother.
29 hours. That was how long she hadn’t see him, ever since his groomsmen had kidnapped him the previous morning. Surely, Lucas and Amelia had gone much longer without seeing or talking to each other but all she wanted at the moment was to hear his voice, listen to him. Embrace him and share her happiness with him, especially now when everything was sinking in, the realization they would soon become husband and wife. Husband and wife.
Someone was outside the door and Amelia didn’t have to look or ask to know who was standing on the other side. Only one other heart pounded with that same emotion that consumed her. She met him halfway, unlocking the door, eager to remove the barrier between them. Once she did, her eyes locked on him. Taking in all of his beautiful features, the blonde savored the way he gazed back at her too; as if she was the most precious thing in the world. “You too,” She breathed out and spun around gracefully, taking a step toward him. At his question, she let out a soft chuckle, leaning her palms against his chest. Lucas Price didn’t have to steal her. “I’m already yours.” Her voice dropped to an intimate whisper, reminding him of their secret that would soon enough be revealed to everyone they knew and loved.
Making sure no one was lurking in the hallway, Amelia stepped out and another chuckle was heard. “By the way, I finally got a chance to inspect all the trophies, ribbons and other achievements stacked on your shelves. I can’t believe I haven’t realized until today what a nerd I’m marrying.” Amelia said over her shoulder, throwing him a teasing look.
lycanthrope-kasey:
“Not all of us are immortal so I don’t think that goal is reachable. But hey, more drinks for us.”
“Is that a serious question? I have memories. That’s bad enough, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, well right now that seems like the only upside of immortality.”
“Nah, of course you don’t have to take it seriously. I was just wondering. It still amazes me how one small town can, y’know, cause so much pain and still give the most. --Doesn’t have to be bad at all. Depends on you, really.”
lycanthrope-kasey:
“At least its nice to see that the sleazy bartenders and crappy drinks haven’t changed. Ah, nostalgia.”
“We shall drink until it feels like we did the right thing, coming back here.”
“I’ve never asked-- do you have any good memories of this place?”
lucasthewerewolf:
“I believe in us.”
