John Heminges and Henry Condell - who are they? They gave us Shakespeare. They gave us the first complete works of Shakespeare's plays. Want
A fantastic day of walking, so many beautiful things to appreciate.
Just been interviewed by @shedmaster48 about my comedy drama Nay, Remember Me! The interview will be broadcast soon; watch this space! Interest in Shakespeare never dwindles; the First Folio anniversary proves that. I have been inundated this week with enquires. Gotta love Shakespeare! #shakespeare400 #firstfolio #nayrememberme #radio #interview #broadcast @Lazy Bee Scripts
Read here to find out why Paul McCartney says William Shakespeare had a major influence on his songwriting style.
“Unwittingly, you know, because I didn’t really know I was going to do much with my songwriting. That was just a little hobby,” McCartney told Daunt. “I do think that is true that the meter of some of these things, I mean, one of the things I learned was that Shakespeare often uses rhyming couplets, and I always thought that was kind of an interesting idea…Unconsciously, I ended up ending one of my songs, “and in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make,” not realizing that that’s where I picked it up.”
This is great information for my Shakespeare Today: Exploring Shakespeare's Cultural Legacy Lecture. Fantastic.
The 400th anniversary of the publishing of the First Folio is going to be huge - so the more, the merrier! Shakespeare is in our DNA and i

There's nothing like meeting readers in person! If you are a writer I highly recommend it! If you are a reader do try to attend book readings. Long may they continue.

Yesterday, in our wild and wonderful garden in Austria, we had the most amazing experience. I describe it all in my blog - an encounter with a baby redstart.
So excited! I've written several plays, in fact one of my adaptations #windinthewillows will finally be appearing in Malvern in Worcestershire in the Winter Gardens from 28th August to 3rd September 2022. I've tackled a non fiction book, #walkingintoalchemy #alchemiedesgehens and my next self imposed challenge is a work of fiction. I've got my new #fabula #fabuladeck and now all I need is a blank wall to start building my story. Only, I don't think we have a blank wall! Too much art everywhere! In about 5 years time I'll let you know how it's coming along! 😅

Fifteen Rules to Live By:
Be graceful and charming - some nitwit is always going to come along and ask you to do something to help them; you almost certainly will have to do it, so smile, beautifully and say yes! They will talk about how gracious you were and you will get lots of credit, kisses, gifts and maybe money. But if you do it gracelessly, it will still steal your time, and the person you have helped will probably stick pins in an effigy of you and or never talk to you again. Which may, of course, be a bonus. One has to weigh up the pros and cons.
Always wear big knickers. Because your VPL (visible panty line) will be up by your nipples, so no one will ever see it.
Always accept a drink and always have a wee whenever you can - the apocalypse might be just around the corner and facing that with a raging thirst and a full bladder would be unpleasant.
Be like Paddington Bear and carry a marmalade sandwich in your hat.
Always wear a hat.
If you feel yourself losing your sense of humour, try cracking a yolk.
Never help an old lady across the road. 100 is the new 35 and old ladies bite now - they can manage, believe me.
Always help old men across the road, and preferably away from the old ladies that bite.
You don't know what you don't know, and you don't know a helluva lot, so surround yourself with stupid people, and ask them to call you Professor - after all, student loans are very expensive.
Never self publish your work - always self publish your work, or, better still, never ask writers for advice.
People have been arguing about Shakespeare for 400 years, so go and see Hamlet, and start arguing with your neighbour, but don't invade Norway.
Always be nice to hippies and vegans - soon everyone else will have murdered each other and you may need to beg for a spliff.
Never put a person or a carpet down, you are no better than them.
Save the birds! Make your cat wear a bell or bell-bottomed trousers; very hard to run in.
Don't try to be a spontaneous with a lentil; they require several years of dating before they commit.
