There are thousands of styles to shape your smashbook, be it whatever you want. Since I am am a fan of journaling and a smashjournal is my way to keep memories from fleeting away, I prefer the stuff I collect during the event rather than the handy ready tools (e.g.: stickers, stamps, etc.) It reminds me - a careless and somewhat impetuous person - to pay attention. Every small detail counts: a ticket stub, a receipt, a piece of wrapper, all of them tell a part of what happened and how. If I want to take a trip down memory lane, I know just a place.
On this spread, to remember the lovely mochi boxes Bear’s mom gave us, I glued two pieces of the wrapper, one green and one pink, on the first page, together with a corner of the box. On the right page is a dove feather I picked up at the beach and the skin of some quail egg we ate.
I got a box full of magical, wonderful things (a.k.a. pretty masking tapes, fabric tapes, stickers and analog photos) from my sweet girl @vor.cam today. Took me the whole afternoon to glue her amazing gift - the box, the wrapper, everything - onto the pages. Thank you so so much for being one of the sweetest girls I've ever met, bé Đan.
Spread of my smashbook journal about the time at the Danang's book fair with my mom. And yes, my handwriting is really bad and my sketch is definitely of an amateur who actually was surprised that the pictures turned out not as bad as she had expected. It was the first time I went to a book fair in town. After almost 1 hour, we got so tired of the hot humid weather, the crowd and the deafening sound from the annoying stage, so we walked back home along Bach Dang riverside street. We got some good deals though, 10 episodes of Lucky Luke for 100k, a book about beliefs and religions in Vietnam and some other books. Then mom treat me a cup of milktea. We sat on a bar, pretending to be high-end ladies lol.
