                            It was a busy weekend and Kenzie was already regretting showing her face for a small amount of time. She had old friendships she needed to nourish and she wasn’t in the position to say no, but she’d rather be back at home and spending more time with Koda. She had noticed the bartender rushed off her feet and decided to show a little charity. Instead of waving her money for her attention, Kenzie shook a packet of smokes that one of her friends had left unattended. All of them lived by the mantra of finders keepers.  “If you want I can help you play hooky for a few minutes.” she called above the music with a smile once she caught the other woman’s attention. “You look like you deserve a break.”

As much as Amelia loved a busy night of bartending, her feet were starting to hurt so the second she got what looked like a break, she took it. Sitting down with a sigh, she ran her fingers through her hair and checked her phone to see if she had any missed notifications. When she heard a woman call out to her, Amelia looked up and met her eyes and then the pack of cigarettes in her hand. “Happily,” she responded with a smile before motioning her head outside, “let’s go.”

She got back on her feet only to meet the woman outside and she sat down on the steps beside her work. “Thanks for this,” she started, flashing her more of a smile. “I’m Amelia.”

There was nothing better than feeling like the town pariah. Depending on who you  asked he could be labeled as a miscreant, a savior, or just a kid who was on the wrong side of the track. There was never a thought that he would actually get caught. Now he had to try and remedy his wrongs and repair the relationships that needed mending. 

With a black coffee and cig in his hand, the Dunsmore simply sat and observed the town he’d known his whole life. As he watched two individuals squeeze on the sidewalk, bumping into his table, he sighed as the coffee splashed from his mug. “Watch it there. You just wasted $.50 worth of my caffeine fix.” 

Amelia didn’t have to go into work until that night so she decided to spend her day in town walking around, maybe do some shopping. First, she needed coffee. Making her way to the closest cafe, she scrolled on her phone sending a few texts as she walked and when she arrived, she watched the couple in front of her bump into a mans table and chuckled to his words. “I’ll be sure to keep my distance so I don’t accidentally spill the next $.50 worth of your caffeine fix,” she said with a smirk.

As much as she wanted to stand there and talk to him, she was going to do that with a coffee in hand so she headed inside. Coming back out a couple of minutes later, she took a seat at the open table and took a sip of her coffee. “How’s your day goin’ so far? Besides the little spill,” she asked, chuckling again.

It’s not Angel’s fault she’s a shit bartender. If anything, the newcomers dropping into Restricted Access are the ones to blame. The regulars know better than to order from her. The best she can offer them is a beer or wine, a soda or a water. If it involves mixing liquors of any sort with any other ingredients, well then that’s where her expertise ends. 

Everyone has their thing they’re naturals at, and bartending definitely never came natural to her. It’s the very reason why she’s going back and forth with a customer over his order. “Listen here, you old bitch. Either you’re going to drink it or you’re not,” Angel says, her temper easily rising as she quickly grows tired of the old man’s complaints. “Oh, you’re not? Great. She’ll make you another one, on the fucking house,” She goes on, snatching the drink from in front of him and walking to the other side of the bar to Amelia. “He wants a Manhattan,” Angel tells her as she tosses out the one she made.

With only living here for a couple of weeks, Amelia had worked with Angel a few times and quickly realized that she wasn’t the most experienced bartender. Making drinks quickly and with ease, she made her way around the bar until she heard Angel talking to a grumpy customer and she sighed seeing her walking over with the drink in hand. Chuckling to her grumpy tone, she nodded and smirked a little bit. “Would you ever want some bartending lessons? I could teach you how to make some great drinks, that is only if you’re interested,” she offered with more of a smile before giving her customers their drinks and coming back. “What do ya think?”

“Oh wow last week. So you are really new here! Do you have family here?” He asked as he looked down at her. “Pleasure is all mine, Amelia.” He took her hand and shook it. “I’ve been here a few months but I live way up on the rural side. So most of my time has been spent fixing up the house and barn and then just going to work. But I am finally starting to learn my way around here. Where are you originally from, if you don’t mind my asking.”

Amelia chuckled to his words about her being really new here and she shook her head. “No, no family here. Just been driving everywhere and when I found Bradford Springs, I was hooked,” she explained with a smile. Usually with sexy men she would be smirking all the time but with Dawson, she found herself smiling and she liked it. She nodded along listening to him and she raised a brow. “You have a barn as well? A busy man it seems like.” She ran her fingers through her hair. “I’m originally from Seattle, Washington and lived there for a long time until I moved to Portland, Oregon and spent most of my years there. What about you?” Amelia liked this, getting to know Dawson. He seemed so kind and sweet and it seemed like he didn’t have a bad bone in his body.

Amelia bit down on her lower lip softly as she listened to his words and she brushed some of her blonde hair away so he could have a full look at her neck. “Keep talkin’ like that and you can do whatever you want to me tonight,” she purred as he closed the distance between them. She looked at his lips, licking her own before looking back into his eyes. “Risk, huh? Now what did you have in mind?” She asked, her hand placing on his chest and slowly sliding down until one of her fingers hooked around one of his belt loops to keep him close.

Axel hadn’t minded waiting. She was clearly busy, the bar was packed. All he knew was that he eventually wanted her attention. Even if he could steal it for only a few moments. Getting eye contact with her, he grinned. “No rush.” He offered, if only to make her job less stressful. Once she moved in front of him he smiled. “Red Breast on the rocks please.” He said casually. “And if you have a few minutes I could steal from you.” He looked around the bar and shrugged. “But if you are too busy at work, maybe after your shift I could steal your time.”

Amelia gave him a nod to his drink and before she could open her mouth to respond, his next words about stealing her time. The smirk widened on her lips and while having a few minutes with him right now would be great, he looked like the type to have fun and she wanted to be free for that. “Lucky for you, my shift ends in twenty minutes and you can have all the time you want,” she purred with a playful wink, and with that she was back to bartending. She quickly and efficiently made his drink and slid it over to him. “Redbreast, baby. Enjoy.”

It was a busy night at work and while some bartenders didn’t enjoy running around making people drinks too much, she found it exciting. Making eye contact with a sexy man in the middle of the bar, she flashed him a smirk. “I’ll be with you in just a second,” she said before going to the end of the bar to deliver a couple their drinks. When it slowed down a little bit, she made her way back over to the sexy guy. “What can I get for you, handsome?”

This place hadn’t changed a bit in the three years he’d been gone. And he was grateful for it. He hated a lot of things– this town included. But this one spot had been a haven when he needed. He also got kicked out when he was twenty for starting a fight.. And winning of course. Felix strode into the dark atmosphere, his eyes tracking the environment around him, finally landing on a pretty blonde, resting on a barstool. His gaze didn’t move from her own as he moved closer, his dark eye brows raised in question– Or curiosity. “How’d you know?” He replied, though his features remained stern. He sat himself down next to her, looking at her appearance thoroughly. “You’re just wanted I was looking for.” He mused, a light tilt of the lips played across his handsome face now. “What are we drinking?”

“I like a man who knows what he wants,” Amelia purred as her eyes ran down his body checking him out before meeting his eyes again. Her smirk widened a bit and she took a sip of her drink, “I’m drinking an old fashioned. Get whatever you want, it’s on me.” He’ll be on top of her later more like it. “What’s your name, handsome?” She asked, running her tongue along her lips. “I could also keep calling you handsome,” she chuckled.

Amelia found herself walking slowly through the county fair with a beer in her hand and loving the atmosphere. The bright, colorful lights made her smile as well as the clear star-filled sky and she felt content. Taking a sip of her beer, she turned her head to see a woman looking towards one of the rides and she approached her. “Are you thinking about getting on the ride? Or are you not a rides person?” She asked with a soft chuckle as she also looked up towards the ride, her stomach turning just a bit seeing how it was swinging and going upside down.

Elena hadn’t made it to the other bar yet, but she knew of it as she’d been looking for a job when she first ended up in town. It had everything to do with needing as many hours as possible to earn some money and not use it all on drinks — though she could use one tonight. “Almost two weeks now though some nights it feels longer and other nights, not long enough,” she spoke quietly as she relaxed her posture while waiting for her drink to arrive. “Tonight was one of the longer nights, it seems. I keep expecting it to get easier the more that I do it, but it doesn’t always seem to move linearly.” There were plenty of learning experiences for her while she worked through her shifts, but at least this one didn’t have her dropping glasses on the ground again like yesterday. “How long have you been bartending?”

Amelia nodded her head along to the woman's words as she talked about her job and let a chuckle escape her lips. “Sounds like you need more than one drink tonight. I get it though.” Taking a sip of her drink, she licked her lips and ran her fingers through her hair. “Been bartending on and off for years at different places in different states. Found that it was a fun way to get to know all different kinds of people and also easier for men to get into my bed,” she said with a soft laugh. “My name is Amelia by the way, Amelia Woods.”

“I bet you do.” He hummed back and breathed a laugh out through his nostrils. She looked like trouble, but then again, so did he so trouble didn’t bother him much. Finn watched as the blonde moved around behind them. “Ye drink ol’ fashioneds? I didn’t take you for a whiskey girl.” She looked like more of a wine or martini gal to him. He had to think about Seattle, what he remembered about it from television or other people. “Really rainy there, right?” Finn hadn’t traveled much and that didn’t bother him but he liked to hear about other people’s home towns, too. “Chicago, then I came here. Ye don’t want to know anymore than that, it’ll make ye cry.” He wasn’t lying either, the last person he told about just a fraction of his past started crying and apologizing to him. It was weird as fuck.

“Whiskey and I go way back,” Amelia said and paused herself for a second, “a lot of hard liquor and I go way back,” she added as she continued to work on the old fashioned. She could feel his eyes on her watching as she made the drink and she glanced his way every so often as they talked. “Ah, the windy city. I need to make my way over there sometime.” When Finn said that his story would make her cry, she let a low chuckle escape her red lips as she finished up making the drink. Giving it its last few touches, she handed it over when finished. “Your story will make me cry, huh? Now I’m even more intrigued,” she smirked. “Mysterious and sexy.”

“Oh it’s never a good idea moving to a small ass town. But now you’re stuck here you may as well enjoy seeing way too many faces all the time” she warns to the new face in front of her, ironically. “Stirring trouble? Sounds like you’ll fit in here alright.” She pays the bartender leaving him a couple dollars whilst she had the money, then brings the glass bottle to her lips to sip. “I’m Dylan. You are?” 

“I grew up in two different big cities so a small ass town such as this one actually sounded nice,” Amelia said with a chuckle and gave a nod to her next words about stirring trouble. After a few seconds of silence, the blonde took another sip of her drink and took a look around, enjoying the events that were going on. When the other blonde introduced herself, she met her eyes with a smile. “Amelia Woods. It’s a pleasure, Dylan. Have you lived here long?”

Her answer made Danny nod his head just once with a cocky grin and light shrug of a shoulder. “That’s good to hear, I won’t have to climb out a window tomorrow morning.” he returned smugly, keeping his tone low.  Women like her drove him crazy, knowing exactly what they wanted and being direct with it too. As she glanced over his body, Danny did the exact same thing to her in appreciation. A faint smile then lifted his face when their eyes met again. “I think you already know that answer.” he answered her slowly, and then gestured to her drink. “This would be where I ask if you want a drink, get to know you a little, your name. But I’m getting the impression that you’re the kinda girl who’s bored of all that cheap charm, right?”

Amelia raised an eyebrow to his response and she ran her tongue over her lower lip teasingly. “And what makes you think you’ll last until tomorrow morning?” She challenged, leaning forward to show more of her cleavage. She wanted to drive him crazy with her teasing before giving in. Taking a sip of her wine, she let a low chuckle escape her painted red lips. “As much as I enjoy the cheap charm, I like a man who knows what he wants,” she purred, her eyes not leaving his.

She made herself an old fashioned and leaned back in her seat at the bar, taking everything in. It wasn’t until she locked eyes with a man walking inside, a sexy man at that. Running her tongue over her lips, she watched him walk her way and she smirked. “You better be walking this way to join me, handsome,” she purred, her blue eyes not leaving his.

Beckett found himself checking out some of the rodeo events, the one he was watching right now was the bull riding and he always found that fascinating. There was a moment in his life where he wanted to be a bull rider but now with his injury, all he could really do was watch the event. He looked as the next rider prepared to go and get on the bull, the ring filling with the anxious energy that usually came before the ride itself. He turned to the person next to him. “This next guy is supposed to be good.”

It was Amelia’s day off of work so she made her way to the county fair checking out some of the events that were going on. With a beer in her hand, she found herself watching the rodeo events, bull riding to be specific. Taking a sip of her beer, she licked her lips and turned to the person next to him who was talking to her. “I’m here more for the hot cowboys, not the bull riding,” she said with a chuckle before taking another sip of her beer, letting her eyes run down his body checking him out. “What’s your name, handsome?”
