hi, so i'm new to mods because i originally played on ps4, and i stumbled across your content on the curseforge app, and really loved it, so i downloaded some cc the paranormal mary jane revamp the V2 and when i went into CAS i added the shoes and it made it red and black with a question mark on it completely took everything off. did i do something wrong? i play with other mods and like i said i'm new to all this some help would be appreciated.

Hello, the question mark usually means you lack the required resources, probably because you don't have the required DLC pack. My mary jane revamps are overrides and recolors of the EA shoes from DLC, which requires you to have the original DLC shoes in the first place. If you see the line "Requires (pack names) to work." on the mod description page it means that your game needs to have the said packs in order for the cc to work, so the Paranormal shoes would require SP18 Paranormal.

I guess this is the case, but let me know if you are having the problem in a different situation!

Steady Sit & Seat Any Sim

Added support for romantic blankets from EP16 Lovestruck. (note: The EA sitting interaction on the romantic blanket seems to have a bit of issues. If you continue to send more Sims to the position when the blanket already has 2 Sims seated on it, it might result in Sims getting stuck or overlapping. To avoid such chaos, the Steady Sit options on the blanket has limited the number of selectable Sims to the number of remaining empty seats, and the options will only appear when there are empty seats.)

Added support for ground/floor. Now you can let Sims steady sit on the ground (randomly kneel or cross-legged).

I didn't even know of the existence of EA's Sit on Ground interaction before I added the options for the mod. This is kinda experimental because I'm not really familiar with the action. Hope it's not buggy…

Fixed an issue where clicking on food in inventory would cause LE.

The last update caused a LE if you have Eat From Fridge or Give Food To Sim add-ons installed, and this update should have fixed it. Please re-download the mod. Let me know if you encounter any other issues!

Hi, sorry for the late response! I haven't been logged into tumblr at all due to life since the last update. Now my mods have been updated to 1.103.315.

If it's any help, most of my mods (except Steady Sit) don't overwrite the game resources, so they're not easily broken by game updates, especially small ones unrelated to DLC. (From experience, only once or twice in the past two years on some big major update). My mod's updates for patches are mostly related to support for new features from DLC, while the existing features are usually still compatible.

In any case, once I've actually confirmed them, I'll update the version status on the mod pages on Patreon or make a new post, so you can see the status of last confirmation through any of the mod pages.

Hello, just found the Steady Sit & Seat Any Sim mod and wanted to know if it has any conflict with lotharihoe's sit to eat and sit to drink mods ?

Hello, my mod is compatible with lotharihoe's mod and can be used together.

For further information, as far as I know, most Sit to Eat/Drink/Watch or Eat at Table type mods (by lotharihoe or other modders) work by adjusting the mentioned eat/drink/watch interactions themselves, allowing Sims to autonomously find a seat to sit whenever they perform those interactions.

On the other hand, Steady Sit mod mainly affects the 'Sit' interaction itself. It can work alongside any other compatible interactions (sit/drink/watch/talk…) but it doesn't alter those interactions themselves, and functions only when you manually use the Steady Sit or Seat Sims options from the mod. It's more suitable for situations where you intentionally want Sims to stay seated longer or need to arrange seating.

Therefore, my mod is less likely to conflict with 'Sit to [specific interaction]' type mods. It is recommended to use them together depending on your needs!

Hi Amellce! I want to really thank you for you mod, it makes a lot of things easier! I wanted to ask you a question regarding the Dine Out option specifically. How does Sim know where to set from a technical perspective? I'm trying to understand what you did, however, I get a little lost on how the Sims identify the correct spot. Thank you!

Hello, you didn't mention which mod, but I assume you were asking about the Steady Sit & Seat Any Sim mod and the Seat All Dinners option? Answers under the cut:

When a Sim requests a table in the restaurant and sits in a chair, the table will be claimed by the group and the chair will be claimed by that Sim. There is a test in the game (restaurant_dining_spot) that checks whether a seat has been claimed by a specific Sim. If the Sim doesn't meet the test conditions, the interaction will not be available to them.

For tables that are not claimed by the sim, the "Sit" interaction is not available.

For tables that have been claimed, the "Sit" option will appear when you click on any chair around the table. However, the same "Sit" options on claimed and non-claimed seats are actually different interactions:

Sit A is available on dining seat claimed by that Sim and non-dining seats. It lets Sims to sit down normally.

Sit B is available only on dining seats that are not claimed by that Sim. It lets Sims to move from their current seat to a new one and mark the new seat as claimed.

These are defined by the sitting interactions in the game and is not included in my mod.

What my mod does is:

Search for seats within the lot where Sit A can be performed. This will exclude dining seats not claimed by that Sim.

Increase the weight of dining tables and chairs, so Sims are more likely to choose dining seats rather than non-dining seats like sofas or loveseats.

After excluding non-claimed dining seats and non-dining seats, Sims will eventually choose the dining seats that are claimed by them.

For Sims that haven't request a table, non-dining seats are the only choice available, so they will sit there regardless of weight.

This is how the Seat All Dinners option works. I hope it clarifies things!

[MOD] Steady Sit & Seat Any Sim

This was a mod I created before for private use. Some friends said they urgently needed this, so I reconstructed it and here it is.

I've been bothered by how Sims would hastily get up from chairs as soon as I told them to sit. That's why I made this mod as an attempt to alleviate the issue and provide a relatively more "steady" sitting experience.

This mod adds the following new interaction options:

"Steady Sit" option for chairs (and pool edges). It allows Sims to sit down while restricting most of the common autonomous interactions that might prompt them to stand up. This will help Sims stay put in their seats longer instead of hastily standing up or frequently changing seats. They are still able to initiate interactions that they can do while sitting.

"Seat Sims Here" option for chairs (and pool edges), allowing you to select one or multiple Sims and have them sit on the clicked or nearby chairs. Each picked Sim will enter Steady Sit state.

"Seat All Diners" option to the floor in restaurants. This lets you instruct all diners to sit. Sims with claimed tables will return to their seats and continue their dining process, while unassigned sims will sit at random seats in non-dining areas. All diners (of that moment) who sit or are already sitting will enter Steady Sit state.

"Leave Seat" option for all Sims in the Steady Sitting state, allowing them to immediately end sitting and stand up. (You can also simply initiate any interaction from pie menu like "Go Here""Call Over".)

Theoretically, Sims will stay seated for up to 240 Sim minutes. But it's not overly forceful and Sims can still get up for various reasons, such as low motives, player direct interactions that require standing, or any higher-priority autonomous interactions that hasn't been restricted. Steady Sit state will end as soon as Sims' bottom leave the seat.

This mod was created based on my usual playstyle and environment and it helped my Sims remain seated for the longest possible time without problems. However it's not a one-size-fits-all solution (I do wish I knew one), and its effectiveness may vary depending on situations and other mods installed that introduce new autonomous actions. You may find it works well or not so well in your environment. Unfortunately I haven't tested it at special events like weddings as I've never played that part of game. Feedback is appreciated if you'd like to give it a try.

[MOD] Clean House & Ask to Clean House

This mod adds two new interactions to the floor, which will show up when there is trash, spoiled food, or dirty objects on the lot:

1. "Clean House" option allows sims to clean the entire house.

It works similar to Neat sim's "Cleaning Frenzy" interaction. Sims will get a custom buff that increases their cleaning autonomy, letting them search for cleanable objects and focus on keeping the house clean for the next 3 sims hours without you having to manually click on each object.

I included more cleaning interactions in the mod, as well as excluding interactions that I thought were unnecessary, so that sim won't clean up unspoiled food, put away toys, etc.

Neat sims, Lazy sims, and regular sims will receive different buffs.

2. "Ask to Clean House" option allows you to pick one or more other sims to clean the house.

The picked sim will accept or refuse based on a set of conditions such as mood, motive, traits, relationships, lifestyles, environmental conditions, and more.

This mod does not override any in-game resources, so it should not conflict with other mods as far as I know.

However, if you have any mod installed that disables the autonomy of specific cleaning interactions, sims may not perform those interactions when cleaning the house either. Other cleaning interactions that are not disabled will still be performed normally.

[MOD] Ask to Eat and More

This mod adds new "Ask to Eat / Drink / Grab Serving" interactions, allowing you to pick one or more specific sims and ask them to consume specific food or drink.

It contains the main mod and several add-ons:

Ask To Eat (main mod): - Adds "Ask to Eat" option for single food (single meals, harvestables, canned goods, fish, etc.) and drinks (potions, plasma packs, antidotes, and most other common drink types like tea, coffee, milk). - Adds "Call to Meal" option for multi-serving meals.

Call To Grab (add-on): Adds "Call to Grab Serving / Call to Grab Drink" option for the following items: ice cream cartons, fizzy juice boxes, kava bowl, coffee makers, tea brewers, popcorn popper, juice kegs, globe bar drink platters, Fountain of Mirth, cauldrons food, and tea sets.

Eat From Fridge (add-on): Adds "Ask to eat leftovers" option for fridges and "Ask to eat/drink" option for food in the fridge inventory.

Give Food To Sim (add-on): Adds "Grab food/drink for..." option for food and drinks, allowing you to pick another sim, bring food to them and ask them to eat.

Failure Chance (add-on): This add-on gives the picked sim the opportunity to refuse when asked to eat. The picked sim will decide whether to refuse based on a set of conditions.

Gain Authority (add-on, requires GP05 Parenthood): This add-on will give parents/caregivers a small amount of Authority each time they ask their children/care dependents to eat or drink.

Some usage examples:

Tell sims to continue eating when they suddenly forget to eat and leave their food on the table or floor (I made the mod mainly for this).

Offer your hungry vampire friend a plasma pack to calm their thirst; provide your werewolf friend with the fish you caught to fill their stomach.

Bring ghost sims back to life by asking them to eat Ambrosia; turn a human sim into a mermaid by asking them to eat a Mermadic Kelp.

Call your sim's family to grab servings from popcorn popper and eat together on a family movie night; and so on...

Fixed an issue where sims did not respond when being asked to grab servings when they were steady sitting using my Steady Sit & Seat Any Sim mod.

Oki so I finally had a chance to try out @amellce ‘s Steady Sit & Seat Any Sim mod and I just had to rush to yell about it because it was revolutionary for me! I have several story scenes ahead involving 16 Sims, many of which just needed to be in the background enjoying the party. I couldn’t use deco Sims because they all had to be from my cast of characters, and as we know posing that many Sims can be a nightmare even with autonomy off - Sims breaking pose, walking off and posing elsewhere, etc.

The best parts for me were: - that I can seat any Sim on the lot, they don’t have to be Sims in my family - they are still sitting even after I’d exited the game and come back in again

The last is AMAZING because I will be taking screenies over several days, and not having to rearrange people every time is a huge timesaver.

Unedited screenies coz I was so excited (an in-story screenie first, then some of the sitters just because):

(Angel hates Lucy apparently, and tbh she’s right to).

Thank you so much for your feedback, I am glad to see the mod is working properly for you!

Although regarding the Sims still sitting after exiting the game, it was not an intended feature. That's possibly the "regular sit" without the effect of keeping them seated, which means Sims would still casually get up at any minute. (You can check if they're steady sitting by clicking on the Sim and seeing if they have the "Leave Seat" option.) I didn't include this feature to avoid situations where people might forget their Sims were still steady sitting after re-entering the game, leaving Sims stuck in their seats doing nothing.

But I do see it could be useful in situations like yours. So the good news is that I've done a quick update to make the Steady Sit state actually persist when exiting and re-entering the game. Sims will still autonomous get up when necessary such as low motives, so I guess it won't do too much harm to keep them stuck in chairs.

[Jun 18 Updated] - Sometimes sims will stand up in place and immediately sit back in the same chair while performing certain interactions (such as grabbing food, putting items into inventory), and their steady sitting state will be interrupted. This mod will not prevent sims from standing up in such cases, but this update allows the steady sit state to persist in those cases, so sims will still try to stay seated after they sit back in the same chair. - Further reduced the possibility of standing up in more situations.
