Lois and Clark Meet Batman: RevolutionSF Fanfic 1994, part 1
In the prehistoric times before you could write things on the Internet easily and quickly, I wrote things on the Internet on a long-ago defunct BBS called GEnie. I wrote a screenplay for the TV show Lois & Clark, in which they meet Batman. Since Batman meeting Superman in live action is really happening in 2016, I thought I would show you guys the one I wrote in 1994. during the first season of Lois And Clark. I used the live-action versions of characters that were extant at that time. By that, I mean Michael Keaton as Batman and Michael Gough as Alfred. The only feedback I remember getting was outrage that I used Michael Keaton. Kevin Conroy Cartoon Batman is who I should have used, for he is the one true Batman, they said. That is true. But he's a cartoon. I was writing live action superheroes in 1994. This is serious business. So here she goes. Myself in 1994 thanks you.
LOIS AND CLARK "Two of a Kind"
INT: DAILY PLANET NEWSROOM—day
The Daily Planet office is buzzing, with staffers bustling around, going about their business. Editor PERRY WHITE is outside his office, on the stoop just above the fray. A little TV monitor hangs above the newsroom, where a news report is playing.
PERRY
(bellowing)
LOIS! KENT!
TV MONITOR
...TV disaster just averted by the timely arrival of Superman, who uprighted the tanker truck and doused the chemical fire. Superman then helped the paramedics with the injured driver, then flew out of sight. Back to you at the LNN studio.
LOIS LANE
Right here, Chief!
LANE rises from her desk and crosses to WHITE. CLARK KENT enters the newsroom at a brisk run, straightening his tie.
CLARK KENT
I'm here, Chief.
PERRY
Lex Luthor announced a press conference in a few minutes. He's announcing some big business thing with a new partner, but that's all he's telling us.
JIMMY OLSEN appears, climbing the steps up to Perry's office, barely carrying several boxes of doughnuts.
JIMMY OLSEN
It's all pretty hush-hush. It's some deal with a big shot from out of town.
Perry stares at Jimmy, then grabs a box of doughnuts and exits. As he leaves:
PERRY
That's why Lois and Kent are investigative reporters. Get down there and investigate.
Lois' nemesis CAT GRANT appears, crossing the scene. As she speaks, Jimmy offers her doughnuts, and she grimaces.
CAT GRANT
That's great news, Lois. You can chit-chat with your boy-friend!
LOIS
We had dinner. Lex isn't my boyfriend.
Cat is leaving the scene. From across the newsroom, she sing-songs:
CAT
That's not what I heard!
Clark talks to Lois as they head into the elevator.
CLARK
I wonder what Lex is planning this time.
LOIS Please, Clark. You always act like Lex is some kind of super-villain.
