why are government employees such jerks? is it like part of the job description? do they have to be an utter failure at listening and being kind to other people? or is the attitude part of the i’m-going-to-shit-on-you-and-block-you-from-whatever-request-you-may-have so people just go away and they don’t have to do anything else? what happen to the title ‘civil servant’…
There is no accountability for military vets as civilian government employees.
Civilian government employees that are military vets do not remain at any position long enough to actually learn the job. It's a stepping stone to their next promotion. They take a job and then start working toward their next promotion. They never actually learn their current job.
Civilian government employees that are military vets don't like to be inconvenienced. If their current job tasks inconvenience them, they won't do them.
Government employees are treated with kid gloves while contract employees are treated with disdain and are dumped on. Government employees get to choose what extra responsibilities are thrustbupon them while contractors don't have a choice.
The vast majority of civilian government employees that are military vets suffer from the Dunning-Krueger Effect.
The more time I spend working with military vets in civilian government jobs, the more I find this to be true.
Interesting observation. High ranking military vets leave the service and start business whose sole purpose is to contract with the government and collect the money. They pay a fraction of that to those that they hire (on a temporary/contract basis) to provide the service. All footed by the taxpayer. Are they the best company for that service? We'll never know.
One thing that I noticed in working with civilian government employees is there is no oversight or any kind of follow up to make sure they are doing their job correctly. They do the bare minimum and whatever they want.
Why do competent employees leave government service or become incompetent? Because the incompetent get the same rewards as the hard working ones. Why bother?

The whole purpose of any government hierarchy or organizational structure is not to be able to definitely pinpoint the one person who would be responsible.

I noticed today that there were a couple of white vans with government license plates parked in No Parking zones. I guess the drivers feel that they are above the law because they have government license plates. Have you seen similar situations?
Want to make sure the DoD gets to pass the next audit? Implement an accounting oversight function and make sure everyone follows GAAP. Most civil government employees don't know, or even care, about GAAP. They do whatever they want to and no one corrects them.
Capitalism is parasite. Capitalists have no new ideas, only more plunder of labor value.
Red States don't get to choose what laws they like and what laws they negate.
We are a Constitutional democracy. Federal laws protect marginalized people in states like Texas from abusive governors like Abbott.
Here we are: Republicans are denying SCOTUS and Federal Laws, then those same Republicans are refusing to legislate to fix the issue, hoping to blame Democrats for Republican inaction.
If those Red States deny Federal Laws, deny those states Federal funds.
Interesting to see how far the Red states are willing to go.
