A Word of Caution When Using Spell Books

This post is for all magick practitioners but especially for new witches. When looking to cast a spell from a spell book please bare in mind that most of these books just give you spells. And even the ones that do have a little general information about witchcraft rarely cover everything or anything about the spells in the book. There are books that I own that have spells in them that require you call on any number of entities from demons to fairies to angels. But none of them actually explain what they are, the author will just have the name of the demon or the type of angel or fairy to call on. Without even saying what the entity is or even that it is an entity. With that being said, when looking at spell books research the spell before casting it, especially if you see something you're unfamiliar with.

Note: I know some people often brush off caution when it comes to witchcraft. And feel like someone telling them they may want to consider something before casting a spell is that person not minding their own cauldron. But I just thought I'd put this out there, by all means if this is not something you wish to do, please disregard this post.

Five years ago, a dear friend unexpectedly passed away. Shortly after he died, I had an intense experience in that liminal space between wake and sleep. I saw him standing next to my bed trying to hand me something that was white and black and amorphous, but I couldn't quite make out what it was. All I knew was that he was upset and very concerned that I take whatever it was.

A few days later we learned that he had left two of his animals to someone but there was a third who was unaccounted for. I got in my car and drove across town to find his cat, Wednesday.

A couple days ago, Wednesday started acting weird and I started to feel a heavy presence and see dark shadows move in my peripheral vision. I asked aloud if my friend Chris was there and Wednesday meowed loudly while staring at what appeared to be an empty chair.

I don't feel him super often namely because I'm still upset that he's gone so I know I purposely block him out. But every once in awhile he breaks through my barrier and I figure I need to pay attention. There must be a reason. Then I checked my calendar. We're coming up on the anniversary of his death. He just wants to say hello, to know that he's remembered and loved.

It's important to pay attention to dates that spirits are attracted to. They can sneak up on you, but spirits always remember.

Last night I premiered the teaser trailer of my upcoming web series for Dead Air Full Spectrum: Secrets of the Craft! 🧹🕯🌙

Witches and witchcraft have been demonized throughout history and media. Propaganda painted witches as the blame for anything you can think of going wrong. We were persecuted for our beliefs and practices. Even today people don't really understand who witches are or what they do.

In this web series, I interview my fellow practioners giving you an insight into the daily life of a witch, what their practice is, and ask them to reveal their Secrets of the Craft.

My goal is to finish editing by April, but I'm a one woman show who taught herself how to use Adobe Premiere Pro right before creating this teaser trailer so please forgive me if it takes a little longer. 😁🤞
