I had a good day today.
I was feeling really overwhelmed/stimulated and I almost had a meltdown tbh. Bad pain day too.
But I was able to self regulate and recognize my warning signs and now I am chilling in my clean room all cozy and happy.
I know that I have come really far in being there for myself and not pushing myself to breaking points. It took a lot of self discovery, understanding, and compassion to do what I did today, and for that I am proud.
It is possible to be autistic/adhd and thrive. I am determined to. I feel like the more I show myself I can be happy in this world (despite it not being made for me) the more I resist the messages of ableism and hate I’ve internalized through the years.
Autistic/ADHD joy is resistance.
(Phrasing borrowed from Mars.Wright on TikTok “trans joy is resistance.” His phrasing really stuck with me being that I (in multiple facets) exist in marginalized groups—including being trans.)
