Literally one of the worst things you can tell an overstimulated autistic person is that they need to stop whining/complaining. Just don't fucking do it, please.
“High-functioning” - a small wanna-be comic about my personal experience with the, uh, term? label? in the intersection between how I carry myself to the world and the complex ways neurodivergence and mental health come to play behind the scenes
I have been thinking a lot about making content (somewhere) to share ASD/adhd resources, my experiences, and things that I find useful.
heres the thing it’s been incredibly hard for me to start on this project because I have been feeling so exhausted and I am afraid of so many things.
I am afraid of my family finding out that I am autistic.
I am scared of being bullied for being autistic.
I fear being misunderstood.
I worry I will give up.
But I don’t know what the outcome will be, and I worry I’m holding myself back. Maybe I can really help people. But I won’t know that unless I try.
I love talking about neurodiversity and I want to share what I have found!! I guess follow along if you want to do this with me?

ADHD/ASD Grounding Phrases
Phrases that I have found helpful to de-escalate and ground myself

1. “I don’t have to follow every thought I have.” - It’s okay to allow thoughts to exist without exploring them further.
2. “It’s okay to do nothing with the patterns that I notice.” - Sometimes patterns are just patterns and it’s okay to allow them to exist without doing anything with them and even forget or lose track of them.
3. “My mind and body will hold on to what is important” - It will come up again eventually if it was something I needed to say.
⚠️I am not a therapist, nor am I equipped to help with you if you are in crisis. Please refer to your local crisis line or the national suicide hotline for help. 🌱You are not alone.⚠️
I had a good day today.
I was feeling really overwhelmed/stimulated and I almost had a meltdown tbh. Bad pain day too.
But I was able to self regulate and recognize my warning signs and now I am chilling in my clean room all cozy and happy.
I know that I have come really far in being there for myself and not pushing myself to breaking points. It took a lot of self discovery, understanding, and compassion to do what I did today, and for that I am proud.
It is possible to be autistic/adhd and thrive. I am determined to. I feel like the more I show myself I can be happy in this world (despite it not being made for me) the more I resist the messages of ableism and hate I’ve internalized through the years.
Autistic/ADHD joy is resistance.
(Phrasing borrowed from Mars.Wright on TikTok “trans joy is resistance.” His phrasing really stuck with me being that I (in multiple facets) exist in marginalized groups—including being trans.)
I wish this was my peppino noise blog for only peppino noise gay
I should start posting more. Just like random thoughts about peppino noise. Because they're like all I think about
