levy never meant to drag nayeon time and time again to mcdonalds, especially after lying about him but that’s all he knew to do. to say he was inexperienced was an understatement (no matter how much he lied and said he was an expert) and again and again he’d revert to a place of comfort. since his parent’s house in america was out of reach, mcdonalds was the next best thing. he felt bad before but after hearing what she had to say, his heart dropped. to lose probably the first girl he was into that liked him back wasn’t an option. “you’re not just a friend,” he said quickly, shaking his head with vigour, “i like you too! it’s just…” his head dropped a little, voice turning into nothing more than a mumble, “i just don’t know where to go that’s good enough for you…”
she was inexperienced too; she’d been stifled by her family for so long, and though she’d had her trainwreck rebellious party phase, it really hadn’t done much at all. but she knew that she felt insecure in the relationship. she knew that she wanted more. “it’s not about going anywhere,” nayeon mumbled back. “i don’t care about places or things. just you. and i just.....don’t know how to............................i don’t know. i feel like things are just really one sided.”
“I’m seriously not joking around anymore, Levi,” Nayeon said quietly, looking up from under her bangs. She liked him a lot-- it was a breath of fresh air when you compared it to her usual lifestyle. He was fun to be around, and he made her laugh. But her parents kept asking about him and she had to keep lying, and the promptly after lying, get dragged to another McDonald’s. “I want to know what this is, because I like you, but if you just need a friend to go to McDonald’s with you, I’m sure you could find someone else.” If she was going to lie to her parents, she wanted to make sure he was worth lying for.

“How the heck are you debuting. You’re littler than I am,” Minseo announced hotly, looking the other girl up and down with her arms crossed over her chest. For one of her first rehearsals, she and the other Alpha trainees had been brought to KWorks to work with trainees from other companies, and upon meeting Taeha, Minseo was just confused. It’s not that Minseo wanted to be an idol and was jealous. She just didn’t get how it all worked. “Kim unnie has been training way longer than you. And she’s older.”

“If you ‘sha sha sha’ at me one more time, I’m going to dump you and then tell everyone you’re so terrible that you turned me straight,” Hyunjin announced loudly, though there wasn’t much truth or punch behind her words. It was very clear to anyone with eyes that she was in love with Chizuru, no matter how much shit the Japanese girl gave her. “Believe me, Zuru. You gon finna regret it.”

“Do you think we’re ever going to need a new studio,” Hyo asked, thinking aloud with a little whine in his voice, loud enough to make Fish stir and look up at him curiously. “Because I don’t think we’re going to sign anyone new, but people keep finding girlfriends and boyfriends, and if Yein and Min are getting married, that means after out enlistment, there’ll be more Mira’s running around.”

"If you don’t sit still, I’m going to accidentally prick you, and it’s going to hurt,” Gaeul warned sternly-- she was focused on altering his stage costume, but he kept fidgeting, making her job harder every time he did. Finally, she put down the pins, taking him by the shoulder and holding him steady. “Woohyuk, is something the matter? You’re a mess today.”

“well, i’ve gotten sick of being sad all the time, so what else can i do? besides, i really think that things will get better.”
“i mean..................i guess. you kind of got a good lot, what with this new group thing happening, though. i think you have more to be happy about than i do.”

“Are you allowed to decorate it?” she asked, wrapping one arm around her girlfriend. “Because we can separate the ones you really like and those can go on your locker. Should I show you the rest of it really extravagantly? Or do you just want to look through the bags and see what’s in there?”
“yeah, i think so! i know yuni decorated hers with dry erase markers....so long as they could eventually come off if i needed to take them off, it’s probably okay,” thuy mused. “yes--present them to me! that’s much more exciting.”

As adamant as she’d been about getting in touch with her brother, now that it was happening, she was nervous.
She was coming to Alpha under the guise of an audition to be a trainee. Minseo didn’t quite know how to dress for an audition, so she’d worn her school uniform, backpack snug over her shoulders as she skipped up to the doors, giving her information so security would let her in. From there, she was taken to a waiting room, where she was told to sit.
If her mother saw her there, sitting cross legged in a skirt (she was wearing shorts underneath) she’d get smacked, but her mother wasn’t there, was she? Fishing a sandwich out of her backpack, she looked around the room as she munched, almost jumping up at any sign of movement, only to sit down again.
When Shinwoo finally came back around the corner, she dropped her sandwich on her chair, standing up and wiping her hands on her skirt, before offering her hand for a handshake. “Well, finally. I’ve been waiting for, like, two hours,” she scoffed. “You’re a lot shorter in person.”
“You guys don’t look like you miss it,” Jaida said quietly, hands folded in her lap. “Us, I mean. Haze. You and Yoora look like you’re doing really well on your own.”
@amethystrv
“Don’t do that to yourself,” Yein said warningly. “You’re just going to make yourself feel awful.”
“you know, i think you’re just destined to be the concept queen,” jinjoo commented with a wry smile. “i know your song really wasn’t what you were expecting, but you pulled it off extremely well.”
@amethystrv
“i hated it. but at least i got to sing about gay shit.”
“hey,” donghyun said seriously, looking at his girlfriend sincerely, taking her hands. “you know, you’re really cute and i think i have a crush on you. you want to go on a date sometime?”
@amethystrv
“No thanks,” Ky replied head cocking to the side as she surveyed him. “I don’t date greasy doofy meme boys. I have higher standards than that.”
It was so weird, feeling like your life was coming crashing down around you and there was nothing you could do to prevent it or make it better.
You could never say that Haein didn’t try, because she did. She worked so hard. She’d moved from Radioactive to Spotlight when she wasn’t getting the attention and success she wanted. She’d trained for years. She worked her ass off in Idol Project, and made it to the final group, only for their contract to be small and for that to fall apart. And then she finally had gotten to debut, with the members of her old group, and that had fallen through too.
Haein had always been insecure. She was well aware that she was one of the least popular members of Unity, and she wasn’t conventionally beautiful in the way people expected idols to be. But she worked so hard. She always put in such a gargantuan effort, and failing despite that? It hurt her to her core.
She did a fair job of keeping that to herself, but after a particularly long training session, she couldn’t. As soon as she was sure the other girls were gone, she curled up in the corner of the studio, finally letting herself cry. // @amethystrv, @rvkrez
Seyeon didn’t know why she’d lingered. Every moment she spent in the studio, training for debuts that might never happen, practicing for things that felt destined to fail-- it was torture. Seyeon couldn’t handle it. She’d worked so hard and pushed herself. Done survival shows and even did well enough to debut in project groups. And somehow, she still wasn’t good enough to be an idol. No one wanted her there. So why should she keep training?
She resonated with Haein. Haein was like.....her older sister. They were both some of the less-popular members of Unity. They’d both tried their hand at Unpretty. They were rappers who considered themselves fair rappers, stuck in groups that didn’t really do much to showcase that. They’d grown close, despite everything. Maybe that’s why she’d hung back-- she’d noticed Haein wasn’t with them.
When she saw Haein, she felt herself crumble, curling beside Haein and wrapping her up in a hug. “Me too,” she mumbled, voice cracking as she broke too.
Things were….better. They felt better. Youngjin and Bomi still had a long way to go to get back to where they were, and there were some rocky patches, but overall, they were rebuilding their relationship. And there was nothing he wanted more.
He couldn’t explain how much he’d missed her. How important she’d been in his life, how much it hurt when she disappeared. How strange it felt to see her debut out of the blue, and how it hurt even more when they merged companies and she wouldn’t even give him a second glance. They’d both made a lot of mistakes, and Youngjin was still hurting. Less so, but he was. But he also felt responsible– if he had been better for her, would she have left?
Seokjung deserved a medal for being the best roommate ever, because here Bomi was again, sleeping beside him, and the younger boy didn’t even care (as long as things stayed G rated). Holding Bomi close to his chest, he let out a long sigh. It was weird. But things were getting better. \ @amethystrv
She was sleeping better than she had been in past months, though whether that was because it was in his arms, or because the hatchet had been buried, Bomi couldn’t say for sure. The knots in her stomach were slowly being untied, though, and she felt much more confident and happy in his presence. Something that hadn’t been true for a long time-- he used to fill her with dread and confusion. Make her feel upset and paranoid. And so guilty, but since they’d put that behind them, she’d felt much more stable than she had in years.
She was sure Toxxik probably missed her, but they could survive without her-- he was her security blanket, and she had trouble falling asleep without him there to assure her that he didn’t hate her and they were going to be okay.
Bomi was a light sleeper, so at the tiniest movement, she woke up, adjusting so she was facing him and so she could look him in the eye. “What time is it,” she whispered softly, careful to not wake Seokjung-- she was already in his space. She didn’t want to make it harder than it had to be.
