I was thinking about RenLeon and came to a conclusion that their relationship is kinda toxic before legion mate...now let me explain this absurd logic of mine

Where do I even begin...so tbh I think that they're both recovering from their past, Ren obviously gotten better than Leon but it's fun to think that he still got that sadistic side of him left even after trying to get rid of it cuz that's how much psyqualia affected him. Leon tho...he have abandonment issues and trust issues because well, the void, he definitely feels like he's an absolute failure a lot of times (also a hc, he had a brunt out phase where he's just completely burnt out from playing vanguard after the incident)

So if you just put these two together, you could think that they're just using eachother to vent and justify their actions without feeling like they're being judged or disgusted by, and yeah like I used to say in one of my old post, they understand eachother in a way that almost nobody else do that's why they vent to eachother, to feel comforted and wanting to believe that what they did wasn't wrong but just trying to prove themselves of what they're capable of. And that's the problem, they don't actually feel attraction to the other but rather see eachother as an tool of comfort, believing that the other could understand without judgement and that's enough.

And to think if they dated, it would've been a literal disaster, now when I say they vent to eachother I meant that as friends and not as a couple, anyway...they would constantly overthink about how they are to the other. That if the other deserves better than them or if they're just not good enough for the other. Because again, they both got problems, but with Ren he might feel the need to make Leon feel worser just so he could be the only one to comfort him (like I said, he still have an sadistic side), which is very problematic and an unhealthy way of thinking about your partner. Ok ok I might just be overthinking stuff again but whatever...this thing is getting too long.

My headcanon is that the void left burnt marks on Leon while psyqualia made Ren have a short span of attention/memory and a blurry vision from using it too much, generally speaking, Ren used it more than others so that's why it effected him so much both physically and mentally. When they're alone together I would imagine stuff like this and probably just sit in silence because they're awkward.

The bandages Ren wrapped around Leon's burnt marks was kept there forever btw. If you ask me why, it's probably because he want to keep it as an memory whenever he had to leave Japan, okay hdgsusbwdbjb my cheeks hurt from smiling too much while typing this. They're genuinely so cute it's insane, we need to talk more about them, like srs.

Also really like the idea of them just feeling comforted by eachother's presence because they technically went through something in a way that makes them understand eachother morally. Okay I actually have a lot to say about them, I love them too much sometimes it's insane.
