Things to love about Enjolras that people forget or don’t talk about a lot

Totally the most self-sacrificing dude you’ll ever see. Even puts Valjean to shame.

Didn’t really care or give thought to dying at the barricades, because he had already given his life for the cause years ago

Never tried to manipulate or be dishonest with his comrades. Even when he could have given them false hope and said that the people were rallying to their side, he chose to give them the truth and let them decide.

Does all the dirty work himself and lets it weigh on his conscience instead of asking or commanding others to do it

Does not like violence, hates having to kill people, but does what he believes to be necessary, sacrificing his own soul in the process (“I therefore judged and condemned that man to death. As for myself, compelled to do what I have done, but abhorring it, I have judged myself.“)

Did not have a moment’s hesitation about trading Javert for Jean Prouvaire. Even though it could be a strategically weak move, he cared about his friend’s life more.
