Joan and Sherlock’s relationship is so important to me, not least because Joan has been written (intentionally or not) in a way that screams aromantic to me, but mostly because it just feels so rare to have a show that truly celebrates and cherishes a non-romantic relationship between a man and a woman. because there’s never been any sexual tension, or any will-they-won’t-they or back and forth about a romantic relationship. because the relationship between these two people are the driving force behind the story, the heart of the show, but they’ve always been friends. because in elementary, there’s nothing “just” about their friendship
