Big disclamer! This is completely subjective and purely from memory, so information will very likely be wrong.

I'm mostly doing this for myself and for fun, but you are welcome to join me on this trip down memory lane

Memes stemming from the game (à la potassium last chapter)

Original Starwalker A character that's been present since Chapter one, and makes an appearence every Chapter since. In memes, His iconic phrase “This [Thing] is pissing me Off. I'm the original Starwalker’ gets referenced, made more absurd, or the Starwalker's appearence itself becomes the meme. This meme carried on from the old Chapter eras

"Oooohohohohoooo" Queen's laugh from Deltarune Chapter 2 became a meme in Chapter 3 and 4 where people would be imitating her laugh while drinking colorful, usually Green, and usually Energy Drinks, through a fancy glass

Watercooler Introduced in Chapter 3, the watercooler enemy became an Instant meme through her Most notible Action command being “beg for Mercy”. This whenever deltarune Fans Encounter a watercooler in Media or irl, they know it's already too late for them.

"I haveth a laser pointere" In His Chapter 3 battle, Rouxls pulls out a laser pointer to better guide the attack of his teammembers. Naturally Fans took this concept and asked the revolutionary question of “what if he showed up somewhere else with his laser pointer?”

Toriel in chapter 3 Since Toriel was in the room when Kris made the dark fountain in Chapter 2, the fandom speculated on what her role in Chapter 3 would be, the Most popular theory being her taking in Noelle's place as the Person being manipulated for a murder route. While other fans wanted her dynamic and familial issues with Kris to be explored, or her just interacting with Ralsei because of their similarities. Instead Toriel Just ended up sleeping through the whole chapter. To cope with this tragedy, Fans made memes about it.

Ramb wants to be a Secret Boss so baddd Through relentless theorizing and patterns noticed in the game, words like “Big Shot” or “Freedom” became heavily associated with deltarune’s secret bosses. And since Ramb, a character that fits typical traits of past Secret Bosses such as: being discarded in some way, not quite belonging with the rest, or having a connection to Kris, dropped both of these words in the same sentance, Fans realized the irony in the role he was not put in, and thus came up with the joke that he really wants to be a Secret Boss, which is why he mentions every secret boss connected word in the game semi-casually

That one guy who animates a png of themselves in the style of deltarune There is a Person in YouTube Shorts and probably tiktok who takes pictures of themselves posing like Tenna, and tweening These pictures to look like the in-game animations … I Just think they're neat

Berdly?! BERDLY?! When Ralsei asks you who you're taking to the festival instead of Susie, when picking Berdly, Kris responds rather loudly. Maybe fans took this as Kris being apalled at the player’s suggestion of choosing Berdly, while others interpreted this as Kris affirming their decision. Kerdly in general is still treated like a bit of a meme in a good chunk of a fandom, with the joke being either the player, or Kris, being unhappy that the other established a relationship with Berdly.

"Bangin' sermon my man" One of the answers you can give Father Alvin at church in Chapter 4. It gets referenced by the fandom for obvious reasons. The voiced version of snapcube became rather popular as well.

Diagonal Kris Kris Stands dianogally when Susie makes a dark fountain and instantly Charmed Fans all around the Globe. Diagonal Susie foth existeth in Chapter 3 ath well.

I'm Old A reference to something by Toby, he put into the battle menu as a descriptor for the Old Man’s action command. Youtuber SaltydkDan, I think, voiced the line in a rather memorable way, and thus got referenced a lot in memes, as well as getting multiple variations, one of which being “I'm cold”.

You're taking too long YtP inspired sentance by Jackenstein and His pumpkin. The Nature of the sentance and it's varients Led it to be referenced as a meme

Among Us reference Noelle referenced Among us in Chapter 4. I don't think I need to elaborate much Here…

The ol' Jitterbug At the end of Chapter 4, Tans and Soriel get caught dancing “the ol’ Jitterbug”. Fans referenced that dance with their own favourite pairings, and the song itself got connected to akward scenes like the one from the game in other instances.

"How much longer now... my ... deltarune?" This is what Gaster is asking us at the end of Chapter 4. A question many Players can Identify with. Not Sure If this really is a meme but I wouldn't be surprise If it wasn't .

"Ok" A running Gag where, in many of the chapters, something random happens to which Ralsei is at a loss of words, simply responding “okay”. Fans are now left wondering: when will it strike next?

Memes making something from the game absurd

"Say it didn't snow" As will soon become an appearant pattern, deltarune Fans don't Take the Horror very Seriously, thus Noelle asking Kris for confirmation in the weird route that it didn't actually snow on that fateful day, Fans thought it would be funny If Kris instead responded “it snew” since that's technically Not “it snowed”. This meme got multiple varients following the “spelled wrong technically isn't the thing I was told to deny as well” pattern

The Thorn Ring In Chapter 4’s weird Route, Kris Takes Out the lightworld equivalent to the Thornring, with Noelle asking them If it really is Said Item or Not. Fans made a meme Out of it by either Just referencing the phrase directly, or exchanging “Thorn Ring” with any other Ring, or completely different Item. Noelle (and Kris) get exchanged from time to time as well

"Me" Again, in Chapter 4, Noelle will ask who is going to hear her and Kris talking, to which the Player can answer directly. This got turned into a meme by Just changing the Sound of voice of the Player, or the question and/or answer in General, Like Papyrus asking If Jr. Jumble or Crosswords are Harder. The Joke in General Just became the Minister atmosphere of the Scene paired with absurdity

"It's been here the whole time" A meme that Twists the appearence of the Titan at the end of Chapter 4 to be something or someone else. it wasn't that prominent of a meme as far as I know though

Keep smiling A meme that Exchanges Ralsei, sometimes Kris, and or the answers you can give Ralsei in Response to him Hiding His pain behind a Smile. Like Both of them being switched with Jackenstein Pumpkins saying “it's okay Look, I'm taking too Long” with the answers being “it's okay to Take too Long” or “your taking too Long is taking too Long”

Roaring fraud For whatever reason, I think it was because of people making it a Challenge to Beat the Knight with only specific partymembers or without the mantle, the fandom Made it a Joke to call them “the roaring fraud” instead. This meme got some criticism, as the Knight is very likely Not a man and thus got the “pathetic weekling but Not in a wooby way” Treatment, while Male characters Like Gerson got hyped up as all-destroying powerhouses

Rory Nyte A meme surrounding the knight’s identity. The joke is that Noelle actually had a secret cousin this whole times, who’s name sounds suspiciously similar to “Roaring Knight”

"But I'm Asriel" Before chapter 2 was out, fans made their own, genocide route inspired fangames about what the next chapter could be like, and since people didn’t care that much about Ralsei’s individually back then, Ralsei was speculated to be Asriel in disguise, who, once you finally also killed him, would reveal his identity while comically crying out in hurt. This facesprite and sentence resurfaced in the fandom after fans started to reminisce about how clueless everyone was back then.

I've been thinking Susie says something like “I’ve been thinking” or something in the beginning of chapter 3, so someone took that screenshot out of context and made her forehead really long for comedic affect. Happened to Carol too.

Memes taking something from the game and imagining funny stuff for it, but it's played more sincerely

You're real to me! Makes usage of the meme of that one guy’s kitten weighing 0 grammys, them realizing what that means, and screaming in grief that their kiten is real to them, but with Susie and Ralsei, who, at the beginning of chapter 3, stated that he is not real

GAY ASS RAL In chapter 3 you can type in various names for Kris for the gameshow. Some of them will trigger special dialogue, such as “ASS” “KRS” “KRI” or the scrapped “FCK” which would’ve caused technical difficulties and then get changed by Tenna to “FUN”, or, if not triggering references, would’ve just looked funny, like the trio combination “GAY ASS RAL” or “BAD ASS RAL”. All making fun of Ralsei in some way

Rouxls the rizzler After Rouxls got togethereth with Lanino and Elnina, (plus being a general simp for people in power), fans noticed the comedic potential in the concept of Rouxls rizzing up other members of the adult deltarune cast, such as potentially Asgore next chapter

Spamtenna divorce The divorce vibes were already strong in Spamton when we only had chapter 2, and now we finally have the ex. The potential is endless. Usually the divorce jokes in this category revolve around them hating each other, or (secretly) missing each other, or generally anything divorce related.

Kris the aurafarmer Kris is stoic, and does a bunch of cool poses. Obvious conclusion for fans: they’re addicted to Aurafarming

Gaster calling Kris Because the second sanctuary melody sounds a bit like a ringtone, one fan made the joke of it being Kris’s ringtone. this was used in a meme where Gaster calls Kris in an awkward moment after they just denied to Susie of having anything to do with opening dark fountains, to confirm just that.

Kris chapter 4 subplot The joke is that while Noelle and Susie get closer and have generally a very slice of life yuri time, Kris and the soul are fighting for their lives in the closet.

Kris being freaked out by souls in other media/real life (just their general dynamic) the commonly accepted (and kinda canon) dynamic between kris and the soul is that they hate each other, thus it’s always ^fun to find heartshaped objects in the wild and let kris react to them, like the lives in minecraft, or the ikea heart plushy.

Player's gender up to Kris’s interpretation since a lot of players still insist that Kris’s gender is up to the player’s interpretation, fans have wondered what if the player’s gender was actually up to Kris’s interpretation?

Kris isn't okay with the soul while Frisk is Players have noticed that while Kris is very rebellious against our control and rips us out constantly lately, Frisk did not do that back in Undertale, thus sprouted a meme of Frisk being rather okay with the soul, and the player wishing them back instead of Kris, while Kris isn’t that okay with it. This meme already existed in the chapter 2 days

Sans Undertale fucked my mom A meme since Chapter 1, but Chapter 4 made it undeniable that Toriel and Sans had at least something going on. A new edition of the chapter 3 and 4 era was Kris and the soul teaming up to kill Sans.

Prophecy generator A website was made to make your own prophecies like in chapter 4. In terms of memes this has been used for comedy gold such as “Kris and Susie will have to finish their project” with an essay paper floating under the text

"It's time to train some lesbians" Players have noticed that persumably every person Gerson has mentored before is sapphic in some way. Namely Undyne, Susie, and December. Thus some artists drew Gerson saying the phrase “It’s time to train lesbians”

Opening dark fountains (irl or randomly in game) The funny idea of stumbling across very dark places irl, so a dark world must be there, or accidentally/on purpose dropping or throwing a very sharp object on the ground with a bit too much determination. Both irl or by characters in game.

"Hi Ralsei!" "I want you so bad" "Kill yourse-" Players noticed the pattern of a bunch of responses to things Ralsei tells or asks us following the sentiment of being rather normal and friendly, rather mean spirited, or rather flirty in nature.

Neg Diff Gerson I have no Idea what that is or if I spelled it correctly (I think it stands for negative difficulty???), but basically someone made a Mario 64 deltarune mod, including a Gerson model with which the meme was Made of Ralsei saying something like “No Gerson, you can't neg-diff a Titan” and 3D Gerson laughing and doing it anyway. In General there are a bunch of memes of Gerson being op

Susie's Harem A Community inside joke about Susie having a ship with every other Protagonist her age basically being her having a harem at this point

Asgore the weeb A meme that’s been recently established due to the announcement of chapter 5, which is oddly japanese themed, making players depict asgore as this one guy who modeled a yukata for his japanese wife, and generally suggesting he might be a weeb.

Wow, it's Japan! General surprise of the fandom that the assumpted Flowerking darkworld has a Japanese aesthetic made into memes, like the place: -_- place Japan: :0 meme ft. members of the fun Gang, Asgore as a weeb, Susie wondering why the darkworld is Japanese ect.

PPG Fun Gang Another very small meme that stemmed from the chapter 5 trailer, as Kris, Susie, and Ralsei made a scene transition with their associative colours, reminding of the Power Puff Girls, so multiple artists drew the gang as such.

Deltarune fans being insane

Deltarune fans are insane We are. In general this referrs to deltarune fans finding the smallest reminder of their favourite game everywhere and taking it as evidence for theories, taking every little detail in the game, both intentional and unintentional as major, lore-changing evidence for something, being so content starved that they drag out every joke and meme into absurdity, and of course, everything leads back to DR. Gaster in some way

Taking every meme and absurding it into oblivion Pretty much that. Like I said, fans were starved for content for almost four years, and the brainrott did not get cured with Chapters 3 and 4 releasing. If a new meme format gets introduced into the fandom, it’s not long until it gets absurded into almost unrecognizibility

"You are filled with the power of not actually reading the text" Despite being very analytical, deltarune fans tend to often miss the forest for the trees and misunderstand a lot, get very attached to what they want the game to be instead of what it actually is, hyperfocus on lore instead of the story elements and arcs, or straight up ignore things directly stated with the most prominent example being the pronouns of the main character. Such instances are made un of by sentances like this.

Taking random letters from a text to make a new text Originated from deltarune fans looking at every little detail a little bit too much, and theorizing that Toby fox must’ve hidden some meanings in them, thus fans started picking out random words from his online posts to give the post a new meaning that was totally purposefully hidden as a message as a parody of that fandom mindset

2 sides of the fandom (artsy and shitposters) When looking through the most popular fanposts, you will notice a big contrast in quality of beautifully rendered , philosophical masterpieces, and the dumbest shitposts ever, which this meme is pointing out

What Deltarune fans thought chapter 2 would look like in 2018 A few months into the new wait period, fans started to reminisce about how different everyone thought Chapter 2 was gonna be when only Chapter 1 was out, similar to how different everyone thought Chapter 3 was going to be when only Chapter 2 was out (even though we knew 3 was going to be different, and 4 was going to be more standard). Basically the most popular believe about Chapter 2 back then was that Kris was going on a full-on genocide route, ending with them fighting Sans and/ or Susie and Ralsei. This Chapter era the fans made fun of this idea a little.

Making fun of theorists who interpet wayyy to much into wayy to little by interpreting obvious stuff in the canon direction or taking 2 unrelated things that look similar Basically that, yeah. An example for this would be colourpicking colours from Asriel’s and Flowey’s Sprite as evidence for a “theory” that they're the Same Person even though this is a very commonly known fact

"God dammit, Kris" adjasent

King of snowgrave meme format This started in Chapter 2 and we have not let it die since. The original, at least I think it was the original, was a shitpost image making fun of super dramatic scenes in media and saying “The Thing” ™ (meaning usually the title or something important to the plot that has a name). Berdly, comatosed, was lying in the hospital with Alphys standing next to him sobbing and explaining that he seems to be “in some king of snowvrave” with using “king” instead of “kind” because misspelling in a way to over the top dramatic moment equals more funny, and important text was highlighted because deltarune tends to do that. Then there we're a bunch of referenced to fandom inside jokes everywhere in the picture, like Gaster, or the 7 human Souls, and I also think evil Kris was there, but it was all fairly comprehensible still. Then the fandom did what it does best. It put more and more references everywhere, changed the text, and characters, but the sheer amount of absurdity stayed throughout. So if you ever see a completely incomprehensible overloaded Image, it's a king of snowgrave meme. This meme also spawned the Toriel is homophobic Text meme where Toriel misgenders Kris to be a Boy, and then complains that they were Kissing Susie, a Girl, because Toriel is homophobic. I think this meme is rather funny Satire actually (homophobic Toriel has a different origin though). And what also stems from this meme Format is:

I remember you're genocides At least I think it stems from this meme because it does follow the Formular of King of snowgrave, but the characters are reduced to sans and Frisk, and Overall the meme makes fun of Sans’s Not clearly Canon characters traut of remembering all the timelines instead of critiquing General Media getting corny. The meme started Out as sans, at His introduction, telling Frisk that He remembers “you're genocides” you're instead of your because misspelling is funny. I think by This Point you might have a Feeling for how deltarune Fans make their memes more absurdy and the Same happened Here. Sans remembered different Things, Like frisk’s pacifists, or He smeed their genocides, Fans changed the visuals of the Image, there was one Iteration I really liked where sans became almost self aware of this Routine they Had going on in this meme and he got sad when Frisk inexplivably wasn't there anymore ect. Also quickly wanna mention that there was a different meme with sans tricking Frisk intomdodging His genocides attacks to bist them for having played the Route because I'm gonna forget it If I don't write it down now

"You are welcome here anytime" This was Said by Carol in Chapter 4, with the you being highlighted in Red. Either to Relief tension from that Scene, or because Out of context it can Look a Bit corny, but this meme, in the Same Fashion of I remember you're genocides, or King of snowgrave, the sentance became a fandom meme template. One time Carol dressed up as miku, or Kris and the Soul we're switched, or Kris got removed entirely and Carol was Just pointing at the door. Then people were Just taking the Scene a Bit lightly in General by for example making the Soul flirt with Carol in Response.

You're taking too too A shitpost that came from the game itself. In the Jackenstein fight, the pumpkin will use the words from his iconic catchphrase “You're taking too long” to form new sentances such as “Your too too” or “Your taking too long is taking too long”. With their already existing trackrecord of chopping up Toby's real and fake posts, fans followed suit and made such masterpieces as “Y_ur ___i__” or “Your T king”

"Things took a weird route right now" Chapter 4’s own, personal “good damn it Kris where the fuck are we”. In Chapter 4’s weird route, Susie explicitly calls it as such, which led to a wave of memes spawning where Kris and Susie travel to different games with Susie this time not having to ask where the fuck they are, because, even though she might not know it, she tells us every time. Either directly or through wordplay. Ralsei's still missing though

Susie's idea Another, or rather the first, meme suggestion which became big. In Chapter 1 and 4, Susie has an idea to win a fight (faster), with the action-command for that being the little Icon of her head next to the text “Susie's idea”. Both times it involved throwing a short person, but this time Susie was so crazy and badass doing it, the fans started making other rather outlandish activities “Susie's idea”, like for example setting a tree on fire with Fireworks. I myself would've liked the meme better If the fandom incorporated the Activity of throwing into them more.

7 A meme that asks a utdr character a question, with the Response being a sometimes edited textbox Out of context, Like “Hey Undyne, how many deltarune chapters are there” and the answer being her Just saying “7” from her pre-hotland monologue, or someone asking “Hey Tenna, what's the 20th Letter of the Alphabet?” And Tenna responding “it's T” instead of “It's TV Time”

Susie saying stuff in a sentance that sounds like concept from the game Another sister of the “where the fuck are we?” meme, probably evolving from the weird route meme, but I'm not sure. This time Susie will say a concept from the game, which will be highlighted. Usually a soundtrack title, or a fandom mystery but in such a way that she's not really aware of the connotation, for example Susie saying: “that was pretty Rude, Buster!”

Theory like bullshit idunno

Deltarune Tomorrow Toby Fox released some updates about Chapter 3,4, and 5’s development every now and again. He got to the point where he decided to only release Chapter 3 and 4 together instead of all 3, so the fans could play some more Deltarune sooner, and with the Status Updates becomming more and more complete, and Chapter 2 being dropped kind of out of nowhere previously, fans started speculating that Deltarune could come out any day now, thus starting the meme of “deltarune tomorrow”, because tomorrow could be Deltarune, and If it's not tomorrow, it could be the tomorrow after that. Eventually deltarune was confirmed to release in 2025, and later got a concrete releasedate in June the 4th. Now it became a little Tradition to post “Deltarune Tomorrow”, once a new chapters feels like it is drawing closer, in our case right now, previously just atthe start of 2026, and now concretely June 24th. Fun fact! Chapter 2’s Release was the first ever literally Deltarune Tomorrow, as it got released one day after announcement.

Asgore runs over Dess The theory of Asgore having something to do with Dess’s disappearence was firstly established in Chapter 2, with the joke that he ran over her firstly appearing around that time as well. It got really popular though, when Chapter 3 and 4 established more about Dess, her disappearence, and Asgore's role in the search for her, leading to someone animating a gif based on a clip from the movie “Open season” in which Asgore is grinning in an evil way and running over Dess with his car, with a rather new remix of “Asgore”, which originated from a Twitter Trend I believe, playing in the background. This meme got 2 different lyrics versions, one set to the “don't forget" melody, and the other to the “Asgore” remix, which more or less replaced the previous Asgore leitmotiv meme from the only Undertale days. The meme also got other iterations with different characters running over a different person, like Kris running over Sans, Toriel or Dess running over Asgore, or Judy and Nick running over Pawbert in the new Zootopia movie. Friend inside me Another meme that carried over from Chapter 2. Friend inside me as a meme became more widely known through the “Woody theory” which got established, after Toby Fox announced in a Newsletter that they had a Cowboy segment planned for Chapter 3, but it got cancelled and that this seems to be the fate of many Cowboy shows. The fact that Toby also once tweeted that the City from Chapter 2 would be extremely small, that not being the case, the theme of forgottenness and cancellation fitting the, until chapter 2, established pattern of secret bosses, and the fact that Toby posted a remixed version of “You got a friend in me” from Toy Story, which made it sound more ominous, with the lyrics changed to “friend inside me”, which ALSO reminds of us, as the Soul, being inside Kris, and lastly there being an ominous grinning sprite in the basement of queen’s mansion named “Friend” in the files, led the theory to the believe that the Cowboy Segment was indeed not cancelled but actually the secret boss or something. Not gonna lie I only watched Woody theory like once, and that was a good while ago and I am not really interested in watching it again, plus I am incredibly detatched from the friend deltarune fandom, my summary is thus probably wrong. Woody theory has since evolved, and since it turned out to be false the first time, but next Chapter is gonna Take place at Flower king, who’s owner now got connected to the Cowboy Show in Chapter 3, the Community meme “Friend inside me” represented through a black and White Woody Toystory lives on.

Mikes get freedom Motive but Knight doesn't Despite being the chapter's Shadow Crystal holder, and thus considered it's (debated) Secret Boss, the Roaring Knight does not have the, dubbed by the fandom, “freedom Motive” in it's theme, which turned into a meme in itself. Usually taking form of the inside out 2 meme “I'm sorry [X] I don't think you really count as an [emotion]." "That's bullshit you let [Y] in!”. But because they're huge conspiracy theorists, the Mike Trio’s battle music references a lot of leitmotives, among which is the freedom motive, which the fandom found rather funny.

Battat Battat, or Green Pippins, is the most popular of the Mike trio, followed by Pluey. He's the leader of the bunch, and the most unhinged about the solution to his theories. Thus he became rather popular among fans and theorists to represent themselves when comying up with theories or observations that made them, or just in general seem a little crazy.

"None of us are actually" After the reveal that none of the Mikes are actually Mike, but were just wearing a costume, fans took that mask drop and used it as a meme template for other things that aren't actually what they pretended to be.

Copies are monochrome Mostly an inside joke. I don't even really know which chapter the Ruddin who said this is from, but when Kris was little they photocopied playing cards to cheat, which were monochrome firstly but Kris coloured them in with care. Now the fans get a little crazy when seeing something monochrome (aka grey because many don't really seem to know what monochrome actually means but I digress/silly) in Game or outside of it. This quote is also in connection with the Kris-former-vessel theory.

Silly stuff

Mario Textbox Icons A meme that got suggested by someone, that actually made it through, namely that the next evolution of Deltarune textbox memes should be them having little icons next to the names they're saying. Methinks this worked well partially because this is already present sometimes in the game, like with 🦖Susie's idea. Deltarune fans being Deltarune fans of course made the thing their own and rather absurd in a short amount of time, with multiple faces being next to only one descriptor, the characters becomming aware of the faces next to the boxes, like with Noelle referencing her sister, and the Knight’s face showing up, while Noelle is flabbergasted about this strange looking helmet, or characters not being aware for comedic effect, for example Kris having stolen Susie's Milk, which the viewer learns through the textbox faces, but Susie doesn't, and many more.

Ralsei plush owner vs Spamton plush owners I think this also started near the end of Chapter 2. It's an inside joke about Ralsei plushy owners being very caring and soft to their plushy (it is a guarantee you will develop motherly feelings for your plushy, even if you aren't a girl), while Spamton plushy owners nutoriously abuse it, fill it with milk, and slam it against the wall. Something that ironically got referenced in-game, but with the wrong plushy.

"Sorry Kris, I spent 25 bucks on this game" Chapter 3 and 4 were the first time Deltarune players had to pay to play (which was met with a very tiny bit of criticism), so this time, playing the weird route, or just generally getting on Kris's nerves by exploring every possible option, was justified. Naturally this Joke was a bit exaggerated in fan art, where artists came up with a bunch of rather outlandish scenarios they'd want to explore since they played 25€ for the game, or the soul not following through with threats of deleting the game as punishment, since it spent money on it, or a joke being Made that we only played to posess Kris's soul, so please leave Noelle alone.

"Why would Chara do this?" When only Undertale was Out, and a Bit into deltarune, it was a popular believe that in-Game, Chara was responsible for causing the no-mercy run by manipulating Frisk into Killing everyone. Nowadays the Players take a bit more responsibility for their own actions, but in this era it became a bit of a meme to clown on that sentiment from the past and pretend any action the Player made was actually secretly Chara’s doing, even in real Life.

"Well this stinks" A meme that I think originated from the double turnaround of Sans misinterpretations. In the past, Sans was mischaracterized as someone who cares so much he takes a lot of action and is very emotional and furious over his brother’s death if you kill him. This also usually came at the sake of Papyrus, who's character was often used to further Sans’s, instead of being appreciated for himself. After these misconceptions got cleared up a bit, due to highlighting that Sans only really does something once we kill the required amount of monsters, and that he doesn't really seem to react that emotionally to his brother dying, the next fandom misconception was depicting Sans as someone who does not particularly care about anything at all. The Most popular iteration of the “Well this stinks” meme depicts both misinterpretations of Sans in 3d. The First one Standing next to dead Papyrus’s scarf with the only remark he gives being “well this stinks”, and the second one following immediatly after, crying His eyes Out to the melody of “faded”.

"I'm not falling for that shit" Again, this didn't originate in Chapter 3 and 4, but carried over as a reaction Image. I think this was also in response to deltarune tomorrow as well as multiple fake images about progress updates. It's Papyrus with red eyes saying “I'm Not falling for that Shit” with multiple iterations, Like saying he did fall for it, or that it was real.

Where tf are we ver.2 Didn't get big, at all, but I want to mention it here because I made one of them and I want the meme to be re-adapted in this format. It's the “Kris, where are we” meme but somehow, someway, everytime, Ralsei finds the twonand explains where they are in Wikipedia form.

Kris and Susie irl A bunch of staged, or maybe even accidental cosplays of the Gang being in funny situations or just being spotted somewhere. Maybe also just images irl that remind of them.

That one youtuber who dresses themselves up as Kris in order to clear up some theories Yeah basically that. One Youtuber dressed up as Kris and made videos with titles Like “I have no relation to the Roaring Knight”. Never watched one of them, only ever saw the thumbnails, which were rather funny.

You're gender neutral? I'm gender pacifist! Just a silly little wordplay on Frisk Undertale being nonbinary, thus gender neutral, and there being a neutral Run in Undertale, as well as a Pacifist Run, with which Frisk is more associated with, thus they're also gender Pacifist…. That's Kind of the community's Humor if you didn't get it by now..

General references to other media Didn't know how to call it. A lot of memes just referenced other media in general, there is no specific pattern to it, you'll stumbled across them here and there.

"I want this place to be a place where you can be a place" I think this stems from a playthrough from someone, but I don't know from where. Instead of Ralsei saying “I want this place to be a place where you can forget the real world for a while” or something, the Let's Players instead made him say “I want this place to be a place, where you can be a place”. It got referenced by the Community and in Fanart Here and there.

René Descartes Not only I, but a few other people, in response to Ralsei's “I am not real” speech, realized that Monsieur “I think therefore I am” would likely disagree. Thus a few memes spawned with Ralsei meeting René.

Deltarune rotoscope memes There were a few artists that rotoscoped trending videos and memes with Deltarune characters, one of the more popular ones being Kris fighting the soul in various ways.

Ralsei works at Mäcces After remixing various melodies and songs to sound like the freedom motive or Don't Forget was popular shortly after the new chapters came out, one of the remixes was a ringtone often heard at MC Donalds. This ringing was playing over an Image of Ralsei working as the cashier. The meme itself got popular enough to land in meme compilation videos outside of leitmotiv compilation videos. Suprisingly, in my eyes, this became the chapter era’s detached-from-actual-canon Ralsei meme, akin to Gun-Ralsei, and Weed-Ralsei (there were of course other Ralsei memes this time, but they Had something to do with the game. The goat with the Most referenced meme was actually Asgore suprisingly enough).

Second sanctuary Sounds Like a ringtone I referenced this earlier but yeah, that. Often there would be an Image of a "[character] is calling" Screen Set to this melody, with the characters looking like a hyperrealistic Version of themselves in the memes.

Hyperrealistic Fun Gang People took Images of a Dino, a goat, and multiple Humans, coloured them in Fun Gang colours and used them for Susie, Ralsei and Kris to make their memes more absurd

Stupid deltarune reviews I don't really know how to describe it, but after the game came out, a bunch of people made really unserious reviews about the game, like just writing the lyrics of "Driving in my Car", or wanting to *ahem* "befriend" Tenna.

Toby Fox memes

House Like carpet When Toby made a bluesky Account, His first few posts were a series of shitposts remixing the "House Like Carpet" Song of which the name I do not know, featuring his little climbing sprite from Chapter 4 with a, then unknown, Jackenstein intermission. Fans referenced this series of shitposts every now and again.

No newsletter? Starting 2026, the year Chapter 5 comes out, there were basically no new Updates or Newsletters, since Toby wanted to keep the chapter a surprise for once, but naturally deltarune fans became impatient, so it became a bit of an inside Joke to ask “No Newsletter” in a disappointed way or something

Adressing the non-gray door in the room During the Undertale 10th Anniversary streem, the usually Grey Gaster door in the hidden room in waterfall was not only Brown and in colour, but also completely ignored by Toby and the dads, among other things like baby Noelle in sowdin. Thus the Fans started to share a meme with an unadressed elefant in the room after the streams.

I miss Tenna (and the opposite) I think was posted before Chapter 3 came out, but one of Toby’s Friends played Chapter 3 and 4 before it came out, and their Response to Chapter 4 was “I Miss Tenna”, which lead fans wondering why they would've said something like that, and after they got to play the game for themselves, they referenced the phrase here and there. Recently after playing Chapter 5, that friend’s Response was “what's the opposite of I Miss Tenna?”. Whatever could that means?

Toby deleted deltarune in a silly way Since it's been taking so long to get Chapter 3 and 4, Fans came up with silly fake Toby-tweets about how he accidentally, or purposefully, because the Fans are annoying, deleted Deltarune. The most popular reason being that there was a bee in the workplace.

Editing deltarune. com in a silly way Because Fans were getting a little impatient with no news coming about Chapter 5, they started editing the website as a joke to pretend there was an update, or a shadowdrop.

Toby could be any of us Toby uses some Form of Text to speech or speech to Text as far as I know, so one day He accidentally retweeted some fanart because of that. Because this never Happens, that was quite a big deal to the fandom, with people speculating that he probably has an alt. Account and could be anyone of us.

Pombon looks like Toby Fox A new Generation for Pokémon got announced, with the firestarter looking like a pomeranian. Naturally the pattern recognizion software in all our brains did their Thing.

Toby Fox fake tweets A meme since Chapter 2, since people started “overanalyzing” everything he posted, as an evolution of the meme, people made fake tweets and “overanalyzed” them as well. It's also become a meme to just make fake tweets in general. You know the Tweet is real if the YouTubers start talking about it (plus you can just generally factcheck if his official account made the Post)

Tricky Tony You never quite can predict what will actually happen in deltarune. In combination with the fandom misspelling his name in purpose a lot for several reasons, Toby Fox will often be referred to as “Tricky Tony” usually in the context of us not knowing what he’ll do next.

Temmie animating Toby with a broom Temmie Made a Post about her Animation process, in which she described how Toby showed her what He wanted her to do for Gerson with a broom. Thus someone animated the Sprite of the annoying Dog, showing the Sprite of temmie what to do with a broom

Toby "Radiation" Fox big disclamer, I don't fully understand this one myself, but I think Radiation was one of the names toby went by on the internet in the past, and recently people started using that name more as a gag, in combination with his old avatar, I think, which is like a fox/dog with a backwards cap and sunglasses

Toby looks like a different person in every photo I think this was a meme for a short while, but since Toby is rather private, we only have so many pictures of him on the internet, and fans started pointing out that he looks quite different in a lot of them.
