Noatak.
That name had been long abandoned.
When he first donned the mask he wondered if Ty Lee could see it. The removal of someone from existence, pushed to the corners of his consciousness. He knew now that she must have because her demeanor over their recent years had been different from when their beginning ones.
It made sense he supposed. Noatak was her savior, as he had planned to be. And while Amon was an extension of that he was still different. Driven. Calculated. Concise. All things Noatak had always been but kept inside now were on full display as he organized a cultural rebellion daily. Even when he took off the mask it wasn't as if Amon faded away. To succeed, to beat the Avatar, he had to embody the head figure of this movement.
And he wondered, as fingers closed around pale flesh, if there was any room for this. Ty Lee was a irreplaceable asset. He had determined that the moment he lay eyes on her and discovered her talent. And now she certainly knew too much to simply let her walk. ( Though if it ever came to it Ares knew she would never divulge his secrets. Not even if she faced punishment otherwise ) But he considered if there was room for this intimacy.
Although whether one could call his fingers curled around her neck as he thrusts into her intimacy. It was true that as of late, especially after the missions he had assigned her, the bedroom had become a place for him to show any sense of unraveling. Like everything else around Amon, her body had become a tool for him to use. Yet one could not mistake the way she raised his fingers to her lips once he had let go. Or the telling arch of her back into his broad chest.
Despite everything Ty Lee remained faithful. She continued to care for him and believe in his care for her. When one understood their relationship it would be shortsighted to call her naive. After all every now and then Amon would give her reasons to believe that Noatak was still there behind all of this.
His mask would slide up just enough to reveal his lips, pressing against hers as they unraveled.
