I have to say, it's really affecting as a trans fan of Pink Floyd who connects with their music so much (and especially Roger Water's baby "The Wall" which got me through middle and high school) to see in huge letters in all caps up on a giant screen at a Roger Waters concert "TRANS RIGHTS".

It's so comforting and beautiful that one of the members of my favorite band is willing to say publicly, obviously, and unequivocally that he cares about the rights of people like me. Thank you for sharing this OP, and I hope Roger Waters knows how many people he's touched with his music and these statements.

See the chap with glasses and an incredible moustache in the bottom right? that's Magnus Hirschfeld, the gay Jewish doctor who ran the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft (Institute for Sexual Research) in Berlin. It was largely his books, his research that the Nazis burned.

It is important to note that this action was not an "oh, Nazis ALSO targetted other prople". They directly linked Hirschfeld's institute and research to claims of a Jewish plot to destroy German society.

If that sounds familiar, it's because it is the EXACT same rhetoric being rolled out by prominent TERFs for the last few years including, yes, The Wizard Lady.

Antisemitism, racism, and transphobia/homophobia are ALWAYS linked together.

I just finished The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet and I was so ready to start the next one in the Wayfarers series but then after the descriptions I realized…all the books are standalones. We don’t get to read about the Wayfarer crew again. Which like yeah I’m excited to see where else it goes next but it kinda SUCKS because I’m already so attached to these characters!! I want to find out more about Sissix and Rosemary and Jenks and Kizzy and even Corbin!!! Like yeah I’m interested in where it goes next and I am satisfied with their arcs but I am kinda grieving bc I didn’t realize I had finished their stories.

The point of public transit is that it serves as a public service. Public services should be free and paid for by government fully. The over reliance on fare revenues is one of the key factors in the poor Maintenance and reliability on our systems. Public transit like Metros, Light rails, Trams, Busses and Commuter rails should be free and we shouldn't arrest people for fare evasion

reblogs have always been in short supply for artists, sadly, but it's hitting the shitposts and even the cat pictures lately. Gotta keep getting the word out that reblogs are good and keep people posting new material that will be passed around for the next 12 years

They’re used to other social media sites, where the only equivalent of reblogging is straight-up content theft; so the idea that you can put someone else’s stuff on your page and have it not be a bad thing is a strange experience for them.

They’re likely also used to an algorithm recommending content based on what they hit “like” on, so they probably think that that’s how this works, too.
