the way Iām kinda glad season five killed Stranger Thingsās rewatching value cause how am I supposed to look baby Will and Mike in the face after imagining what I imagined reading those lawless fanfics
I went to check an incoming review on vinted and ARE U FUCKING KIDDING ME
when your girlfriend who was just bullied and traumatized in front of the whole school (all resolving in a very brutal accident) is sitting miserably next to you but you cant stop thinking about the fight you had with your ābest friendā
What really infuriates me about Byler is that itās not just queerbaiting in the sense that Iām not queer and I was fucking baited. Il try to explain myself. Iām a 35 heterosexual woman and I watched many many MANY shows in my life and never NEVER have I been queerbaited before. I watched Supernatural and Teen Wolf and maybe cause of my heteronormativity I NEVER picked up any of the signals or queer coded subtext that the queer community was picking up watching those same shows
For me Destiel and Sterek were just a fandom thing, sometimes even a bit forced if u asked me, cause there was nothing in the material of the show that was explicitly or even sub textually (for a non queer person of course) showing me that. This case is totally different though. In this show we have a canonically gay character who is canonically in love with his best friend and who somehow gets in the middle of his best friendās struggling heterosexual relationship. It can't be a narrative coincidence that Will's feelings for Mike are revealed to us in the season where Mike appears hesitant and confused in his relationship and feelings towards Eleven. It can't be a coincidence that Mike and Eleven prove to be increasingly incompatible in season 4 while, in contrast, Will and Mike grow closer. We cant reduce Byler to the blue and yellow theory, or the pictures in Mikeās room, or the One Way sign pointing the closet, what about the airport hug in season 4? What about season 3 finale? What about the fucking painting? This is not subtext, or symbolism, THIS IS THE FUCKING SCRIPT, THIS IS TEXT, THIS IS CANON. THIS WAS FOR EVERYONE TO OPENLY SEE.
I really donāt get how some people want Nancy and Steve to be together.
For me it was always clear that Nancy never really loved Steve. She clearly had an infatuation at the start of season one, and even then it felt like she was more into the idea of him (being the cool guy at school, one of her first romance) than into Steve himself.
When we see her after the night they spend together she looks kinda sad, disappointed and almost like she is already regretting it and I think itās because despite being attracted to him and infatuated she didnāt feel a real deep connection. I donāt know if that was her first time having sex but it felt like she was expecting something special and that was not the case.
Then thereās the whole Barb situation of course but we see her already detached from Steve, always rejecting or averting him. And of course Steve changes and proves to be a different kind of guy by the end of season one but that doesnāt change her feelings. And donāt tell me that Steve is different now cause he is not. He had little growth at the end of season one of course, realising his mistakes and cutting off his dumb friends but has been the same ever since.
Season 2 Steve and season 4 Steve are identical and she didnāt love Season 2 Steve when they were together. If Stancy happen in season 5 Iām gonna fucking riot.

Brooke & Lucas in 2x23 āThe Leavers Danceā
every episode of season 3 ft. brucas: 3/22
Itās been 20 years and to me it still doesnāt make any sense that Leyton was endgame. Brooke and Lucas had such a strong and slow build up in season 2, they got to really know each other and fall truly in love with each other in a mature and honest way compared to Leyton teenage infatuation in season 1. Also, once Lucas realises that he is in love with Brooke he NEVER falters, never even seems to be uncertain and never doubts his decision to be with her. We still perceive Peyton has a threat to the couple in season 3 but only cause of Brooke insecurity or Peyton fickleness, NEVER from Lucasās perspective, even though he is supposed to be the switching element of the triangle. He is the one constantly repeating and reaffirming that he is in love with Brooke and she is the one for him, even after the break up. So for him to tell Peyton āitās always been youā feels so inconsistent and itās ridiculous at least.
This has gotta be a dream...
