Bi-monthly web radio residency at Onassis stegi.radio
The first week of December '23 a four day festival took place in Athens regarding the Greek cultural landscape vis-à-vis the increased involvement of private institutions. My musical performance @tvcontrolcenter addressed the contradiction of the Athenian cultural scene by juxtaposing pompous phrases from press releases to the artists' inquires. Let's keep reclaiming the night!
A four-day festival on the role of private foundations in the field of culture.

"Follow The Pebbles" is a mini-collage of sound souvenirs. We shape our path intrinsically, but some of us are trying to follow the pebbles back in order to understand the elements that shaped us when children. All sounds were sourced from old fairy tales cassettes and together they create a parade where the musical elements pass you by. Noise, artifacts, human voices that become animals' roar, all blend as reality and fiction collide. Warped sounds match our distorted memories. Once in our memory sound gains a dual identity. It becomes an eternal element that can be recalled and projected into the future conserving simultaneously its past character. The listener is invited to dream again, even though aware that life is not a fairy tale, and to live happily ever after.

Selected work for the Future Nostalgia digital platform and upcoming Futurology Kiosk installation, Weimar, Germany, March 2022
“Abra Katabra” ‘s primary source of sound is the 555 timer IC that dates back to the 70's and incorporates in its sound the whole ethos of DIY electronics. Here, it is heavily processed by sound manipulation tools provided by a modern DAW. The outro is the opening melody of an old fairy tale cassette I used to listen as a child back in the 80's. The brain is befogged by the use of an opening tune as outro. A mental loop is created that wraps around you like a veil and travels you through time. An eerie warm light where future and past collide in a soundtrack played on a warbling cassette player, thus forever stored in our memory. By collecting and evoking the sonic elements into the conscious mind the piece gains a dual identity. It becomes an eternal element that can be recalled and projected into future conserving simultaneously its past character. Every time it is recalled a new entity is created as time reshapes it, in the same way as a magnetic tape is worn and reborn in every loop.

“is slender; likes flowers”
is a verse from a poem by e.e. cummings where Life is presented as an old man with flowers on his head and Afterwards as a slender lady who likes flowers. The work comes as a sequel to “in pulverem reverteris” (2021), an observation of the moment when ashes join the foam of the waves. In the work “is slender;likes flowers” the sound fragments have been united in a single structure, which, however, remains extremely fragile. The space created by the synergy of high and low frequencies is the binding material of the fragments that are joined to this new body, only to break at the first opportunity.
The work is intended for live performance via live mixing and sound manipulation through filters and effect inside Ableton Live, and lasts approximately 8'. The primary sound material are recordings from Eurorack simulator (VCV) and contact mics, 40106 oscillator, plug-in and Volca FM synthesizer.
Watch Live Footage
In 2009 I was in Brooklyn, NY for Mono No Aware Festival III for live musical accompaniment and performance of “Honey Bed” ‘s soundtrack. A beautiful short film, I also co-starred in, by my dear friend Syni Pappa, shot on Super 8.

Memento, homo, quia pulvis es, et in pulverem reverteris
