The final stretch of the pregnancy brings Gihun closer to the people he loves. Between card games, nesting sprees, and Inho’s career switch, they prepare to meet their daughter
I know Serendipity is already coming to an end, but since everyone from Gihun's care team had already been introduced in the story I wanted to officially present them and the Squid Game characters they're based on!
If you don't know what I'm yapping about, Serendipity is part of my series of stories called So This Happened, it’s an AU of Squid Game that narrates Gihun and Inho's journey to form a family.

Starting with the star of the gang! Ali Abdul is a caring care coordinator that makes sure Gihun's case is dealt with the most attention.
Dr. Park is the always attentive OBGYN who first identified Gihun's case.
Dr. Kang Eunji is not only a talented MFM specialist but actually Gihun’s ex-girlfriend. Her presence in the team had been a pillar to Gihun.
Nurse Youngmi is quiet and dedicated to her patients. Gihun feels at ease by her calming presence.
The quirky Dr. Minyeo is the one to bring light to Gihun’s condition. Always ready for his needs, she’s not someone that will sugarcoat everything.
Gihun's endocrinologist didn't make many appearances, but he was based on the doctor from the first season!
The attentive psychologist, Dr. Lim Chilsoon, was based on Player 70 from the first season! A fun fact is that her name means 70’s.
I bet many recognize this face. The loan shark from Squid Game was adapted to a caring urologist who Gihun is able to open up to.
The pragmatic geneticist was based on a similar character only known as “Kang Eunji’s unnamed husband”. So that task fell into my hands, and now he’s named Jang Jaewon.
Lastly but not least we have Squid Game’s own glassworker, here in the form of an ultrasound tech. Funny enough, he was one of the first characters I idealized in the story.
And this is our medical team! Maybe we’ll get to see more of them in the series… 👀
