To what degree do our handworks and mind products matter if they're barely saturated in God? Aren't we all just trifling entities and stark beings if Love doesn't consume us?

This is John 5:18. It's one of the many verses I find oddly comforting. Jesus himself claimed that He is equal to God and therefore is God. For who can be equal to God but He who is the God? Even in the context of persecutions and vile accusations by the Jews, He stayed steadfast to His love for this fallen race. How humbling and how powerful is His claim. Because even when He is the highest, the greatest, the one who holds all the glory of the heavens, and have the whole universe and beyond at the palm of His hands, He chose to feel for and with mankind in their constant battle with pain, sorrows, persecutions, afflictions, and temptations. I choose to believe that Christ is God and He is King not because of religion but because I myself have experienced and is experiencing His perfect divine ways and perfect inexplicable love. And when I call on Jesus I know I don't call on a mere mortal, I call on an everlasting uncreated One. #Jesus #divine #deity #Kingofkings #Lordoflords #theWord

I finished Book 1 of Psalms this morning and just… wow. This is my first time reading the Bible all the way through, and no matter how far away from God I feel, or how sad or lost or lonely or anxious or angry I am, when I sit down to read His Word? None of that matters. It’s hard to explain. I’ve always loved books. I’ve always felt like books saved me, but this book? This book is the book. And I know that He saved me. Jesus saved me. He saved all of us. It’s beautiful. It’s so, so beautiful. I love God, I love Jesus, I love the Holy Spirit. I love the Bible. I love His Word. If you’ve never read it, try it. You never know what can happen. Trust me. Trust Him. I promise, it will change your life. He will change your life. And if you haven’t read it in a while, if you’re feeling sad or lost or lonely or anxious or angry, open up your Bible and read His Word. Start anywhere. He will heal you and guide you and help you through.  God is good, my friends, and His Word nourishes.

You know that moment when you really have no idea what you did to a person but she still despises you for some reason?

I am confident in one thing, that the love of God is far greater than apathy, hate, sorrow, and anything else life throws at us. What makes God’s love so powerful and wonderful and truly captivating is that it’s engaging. God does not love from afar, even if we feel like He does. God is in the storm with us, calling our name and holding out a hand for us to grab. If we are empty, God is waiting to fill us. If we are weak, God is quick to carry us. If we are lost, God will stop at nothing to find us. He is our anchor, learn to trust in His love because it’s more wonderful than we can even comprehend. Though we may not understand it all or even feel like God loves us, the truth is in Christ and the extent that He did to show us our worth in Him. Nothing can separate us from that truth, we have Jesus and that is a hope far beyond what our worried hearts might say. -T.B. LaBerge
