I’ve been playing the Morchang lately. I’m no expert, but it’s atmospheric and fun to carry with oneself to pretty places such as these in the video.
I sketched out a two way pivot-hinge because someone asked me to.
I started with trying miura folds and then it it quickly turned into something complicated. A bit later, I forgot what I was doing, but it was terrific fun.
These type of folding models are good for deployable structures. Like many other things on blog, I want to explore these further (thought there’s a good chance that won’t happen anytime soon)
I had an ice cream stick lying around my desk. I usually keep stuff like this for times when I have nothing to do for fidgeting with or for crafts. I split the ice cream stick into two halves, made tiny notches to create an edge half lap joint and two tiny notches at an angle of 60° to the sticks to accommodate the photograph. I made a mistake, though: I should have actually made the notch on the rounded side on one of the halves so as to get both the rounded sides up. No glue, just one ice cream stick and a simple cutter knife.
In terms of CG, it hardly matters as the photographs don’t weigh much. But for instax photos, I couldn’t have taken it too far from the joint and it’s a fairly stable structure. I’m crafty that way.
Odd sized notebooks.
One side used paper, old photographs, paper punch and zip ties.
Random pieces of furniture that I designed. A bench with tiles top, a few pinewood tables and benches. And a breakfast counter with Jaipur blue pottery tiles all the way from Jaipur. (I did NOT design the chairs though)
Highly animated desk Alien.
A ring made out of old guitar string and it's ball ends. Made ear studs too!
Made a prototype for a compact crossbow. Part of my ongoing effort to build a disaster and apocalypse survival kit.
A SHOCKED STUFFED ELEPHANT
Another favourite pair of trousers got torn, so to made a plushie to commemorate their service to me. Might make a dinosaur next. Watch this space.
Edit 12/10/16 : I made a little dinosaur and a life size baby squirrel. and used the old jeans to make a bird and a cute little octopus(it's my favourite)
OBSOLESCENCE - II
Fortune favours the brave
It all started wh.. No, not again. Here's what I wrote about converting a typewriter into a keyboard for my iPad last year.
Finally got my hands on an old Olivetti Dora (Lettera 31) portable typewriter. The next step is to order the conversion kit from usbtypewriters.com
