I guess coming out to my mom went better than I hoped for?

after a long time of not knowing what to do, my therapist advised I come out to my grandma BEFORE I move out there. And tonight I did. it took so much to be able to tell her that I wanted to undergo Hormone Replacement Therapy. She told me that regardless of what gender I wanted to be, or who I changed to that won’t change the fact that she still loves me and that she’ll talk to my great grandma for me. she told me that if I still wanted to move there that I could and no one would think any less of me for changing my gender. I’ve never been so happy to have family there to support me. After so long of being terrified that they wouldnt want me once I told them it feels amazingto have her support my decision

Dear Family and Friends,

Now I want you all to know something.

I want you all to keep in mind all the times you've told me that you'll 'love me no matter what' and other things along those lines.

This is well...Me coming out to you guys.

No I don't mean- well, yeah I mean I'm not straight but this isn't what that's about.

Now Im gonna ask that you not say anything until I'm done reading this because this is really hard for me okay.

I'm coming out to tell you guys that I am trans.

Now, that means that, I was born as a woman, but somewhere along the lines genetics was like “HEY FUCK YOU” and decided not everything was going to match up and made my mind as a guy, and the body as a girl. Gotta love biology am I right?? [great hand gesture]

I know you guys have questions so I guess Ill answer the basic ones everyone usually asks when you tell them these things.

When did you know?

Well I knew roughly 6 years ago, I however did not know what it was called or what it meant or if it was normal or what I could do about it or anything involving it really. I was just kinda like “hm...well..guess ill ...uh...save that for another time”

How did you know?

I didn't feel like I was a girl. I felt horrible in my body, Honestly I just thought it was because I was fat or whatever at first. I was online all the time and I would never say I was “Ali a __ year old girl” id use fake pictures go by Alex and what not, Im sure you see where im going with this?

What medical things do you have to go through

Well, first things first I have to start living full time in the gender Im trying to transition to.

That means going by my new name (thats Alex guys, not a big change see just a few letters) using my pronouns (thats He/Him/Himself) ya know instead of she her herself. Most doctors want you to live like that for like...6 months from what I've read online about most peoples experiences. After that you can get on T (thats Testosterone) so that your voice gets deeper and you get muscle mass and your fat redistributes and you grow body hair and BASICALLY go through puberty again. Then comes top surgery where they cut off your chest basically, I mean its a complicated procedure so I wont go into details about it (I've watched in online and let me tell you...it is not for the feint of heart). Then comes bottom surgery and they graft a penis from either your thigh, your arm or your side, and it leaves a gnarly scar. So ill get to say “oh yeah I got this scar from my dick” bud dum tss

Hows this going to effect me

well it's not. All you have to do is remember to use my name and pronouns and remember not to call me a she or say “yeah, hes a guy BUT he was a girl first” or ya know tell other people that I am transgender. ESPECIALLY if we're in public, and I end up having to use the bathroom bc then its gonna not be good. Well....that stuff and ya know support me.

Are you sure thats what you wanna do?

Yes. 100% yes. 1000000% yes. Ive thought long and hard for a while and let me just say yes I am 1000000% sure that this is what I want to do.

Okay so now, if theres any other questions I didn't answer and you have I'll answer those and oh god please do not hate me for this because I know a lot of people are like “IM LOSING MY ___insert family relation here___” and its not like that I swear ill still be your family just now ill be your nephew instead of niece and ill be you grandSON instead of grandDAUGHTER and ill be your...boy cousin...instead of girl cousin...and ill be an Uncle one day instead of an aunt!

I really wish I knew more about finance bc according to google, the average chest surgery is roughly 6k 

but before taxes If I work a job with the average minimum wage $7.40 then I should be able to get it within 4 months from when I get a job...

but thats only if I don't spend, obviously it'll take longer since I'll be paying my grandparents some rent, and food money, and things like that.

I found surgeons in the state im moving to that do surgery both top and bottom, but both of the ones that do top have VERY BAD reputations from what im seeing and this worries me so much
