Curiosities and Conclusions || OPEN THREAD

Once he saw she had decided to follow, the boy took off anew, a spring in his step and a sprightly tune on his lips. But upon receiving her question, he fell for a moment silent before humming and hawing in consideration and then,
âMmyup! All on my own.â No bragging - simply matter of fact. âI had been staying with my teacher, Master Saleh, but determined that I should like to continue my studies of magic and its relations to the world on the road itself.â
Ewan took his steps slowly now, more deliberate than before as he looked skyward and pondered over his being here. âMostly, I follow wherever my feet lead me,â he mused aloud. That was the wandererâs creed, was it not? âBut I do intend to return someday - he has much left to teach me, I am sure.â
Skipping over a small brook, he soon came to a halt, for camp really was not so far away. It was modest, a cloth lean-to laid up against a barrier of small trees, a few odds and ends neatly stacked under it. A fire pit lay just beyond, black ashes contained within a small pile of rocks, and a spit - functional but mostly crude - had been erected above it. Hefting his cauldron, Ewan hung it from the spit and wasted little time chucking a few pieces of wood beneath it. Busy, busy, he struck a fire curiously not with magic but with flint, and in little enough time a cozy blaze simmered, licking at the stew.
âItâs not much,â he offered casually. âBut itâs home away from home. If youâre hungry now, I have some bread and jerky I could offer?â
A wanderer, interesting. A seeker of adventure and perhaps⊠truth? It seems more like a coming-of-age adventure, a passage to adulthood and true knowledge. Whoever this Master Saleh was, Miriel could tell that the young mage held them in high regards.
Miriel pulled up her garments as she walked over the brook, heading towards the small camp. She couldnât help but write down her observations on this camp site. The way the tent was pitched and what materials it was made out of, all of those components intrigued her. Regarding foreigners, it was always helpful to learn more about their technique and culture as a whole. One cannot find the truth of universe without understanding the occupants within.
âFire pit with a rusting spit, most interesting.â She muttered before pushing her glasses up to look at Ewan. âA kind offer, one that I will take.â This was another plausible observation that could hint at how Ewan and the people where he came from prepare their food. Jerky was universal to most realms, but the meat and how it is prepared can tell you a lot of the cultureâs culinary endeavors. Â
