Dioptase’s special abilities regard insight. All Dioptase specimen posses excellent insight abilities, aiding in their compassion and hence what makes them such good caretakers and teachers for younger gems. Most have too fragile hearts or weak abilities to actually use them for offensive techniques. Subject Y-37748 is a bit of a special case, and for such a reason (as well as their steely determination) they were made head of the lead Torture Squad for the War on Earth.
