I don't believe we've met. I like your plants.

Oh. Hello. Thank you, they are actually my daughter's plants. I specialize in trees actually. And storms.
Well, they're lovely, regardless. I'm sure your trees are, as well.
"They are God's trees!" He snapped, then cleared his throat. "Err. Thank you. I'm....not accustomed to having guests. Would you like a beverage? Arianna is quite good at making tea."
"I didn't catch your name? Mine is Storm Angel. Or Ananiel, if you prefer."
She rolled her eyes.
The trees you're in charge of. Tomayto, tomahto.
She extended her hand.
Chava. What kind of tea've you got?
Ananiel took it gently and pumped it up and down twice then releasing the hand.
"We have Butterfly Pea flower, Earl Grey, Lady Grey, a tea with cinnamon called Bengal spice, and Rose Congou."
He heard Marianna coming and looked over his shoulder. She was wearing a lovely violet dress.
"Hello!," she crooned, reaching to shake the visitor's hand. All six fingers were visible, she rarely remembered that people would find her hands strange
Hm.
Nothing particularly to her tastes, but she didn't want to be impolite.
Rose Congou, perhaps.
She spun around to look at Arianna.
The flower-girl, then?
She took her hand, noting the fingers: six. An interesting number. She didn't comment, but raised an eyebrow.
The pleasure is mine.
"Hello! Yes, I grew those flowers! Are you staying for dinner? We're having pasta! I love pasta! My father is a good cook. Father I would like some Lady Grey please."
Oh, I don't have much of a stomach, but I'd love to stay and talk. Your garden is beautiful. Homey, even.
Her charming smile slipped slightly, becoming more bittersweet.
Arianna was half angel. She sensed the sadness settle over her new friend Chava.
"Oh? Not hungry? Come talk with and see my pretty flowers and grass! It's not raining yet! When it rains I will pray to Lord."
She reached lightly for Chava's hand but not touching . Chava must choose it
She took Arianna's hand. She gave a little scoff, biting back an "As if They care" as she followed along.
Ananiel sat on the porch again to observe Arianna and smoke his pipe. He thought about London and how his child would react to the busy streets. Thought of the new friends she could make. He hoped that the demon was not as evil as he'd always heard, that he would not frighten his very last child .
"These are my favorites but shh don't tell the others!" She moved her strange hands with all those fingers over the colorful calla lilies. She also hummed absently, almost as if she had forgotten her visitor.
But she hadn't.
Chava smiled and squatted down next to the lilies.
I love them too. Gorgeous things. I keep them back home, too...
Again, that melancholy creeped into her expression.
She stood with her face to Heaven. Her hands drifted like blossoms dropping so slowly on the air.
"Are you alright?" She asked quietly. "What is hurting you so much!"
I'm, um. Very far from home. And I can't go back. It's not safe. And... And I miss it dearly.
She was a mother. Though her child was grown and gone, Marianna never forget her baby girl. And the home she had with her husband and daughter. She turned and stretched out her hands, offering touch if it was so desired.
"How sad! Not safe? That must have been terrible! Oh sweet girl. I will ask Father to smite the ones who hurt you, with his storms!"
Yeah. Erm. We're working on the smiting bit ourselves, actually. Also we may have committed a few crimes in the process of mitigating greater disasters, which is part of the reason it's not safe to return.
"You remind me of my granddaughter" Ananiel suddenly appeared next to them. "She is also breaking laws...to free oppressed Muslim women."
He knew he could come off as intimidating and sometimes terrifying. He smiled a little, his hands in his pockets.
Chava hissed and fell backwards onto her rear end.
Bloody angels appearing from fucking nowhere-well, good for her! And them!
"Oh I'm so sorry!" Ananiel said. He reached down to help Chava up, looking contrite. "It's quite difficult to hear angels walking! I didn't mean to disturb you!"
Marianna flopped down next to Chava. Immediately her clothes were soaked. "It's about to rain again. Let's have tea inside?"
