i wasn't expecting amphibia to give me back a little bit of creative spark, but i burned through the whole thing in two weeks and now i have a frog-shaped hole in my heart

i thought i may as well take a look at it since i've been going back through the western cartoon catalog to catch up/watch stuff contiguously and now i've bought the art book

it's seriously so interesting how it and the owl house come from the exact same cultural context but engage with it so differently; i've still gotta finish the latter, but i could write a whole essay on how amphibia filters its setting escapism through its life and dynamism while toh focuses on wonder and fascination
