When I first joined TRY NGO as a volunteer, I had no idea just how deeply the experience would shape me. TRY NGO, an inspiring organization dedicated to empowering women and educating children, opened my eyes to the challenges many face—and the power of community-driven change.

Why I Chose TRY NGO

I’ve always believed in the transformative power of education. When I came across TRY NGO and learned about their work in child and women development, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. The organization’s mission to support underprivileged communities resonated with me deeply, especially their holistic approach: focusing not only on academic learning but also on emotional well-being, health, and economic independence.

What I Did as a Volunteer

My role varied day-to-day, which made every moment exciting and meaningful. Some of the activities I was involved in included:

Teaching Children: I conducted sessions in basic English, math, and general knowledge. We used creative tools like storytelling, drawing, and games to make learning fun and engaging.

TRY NGO also runs a dynamic child welfare and early education program, ensuring that children from underprivileged backgrounds are not left behind. Mornings start with a nourishing meal, ensuring children are not distracted by hunger and can focus on learning.

The education model here is both structured and joyful. Trained educators use storytelling, games, arts, and personalized learning to make basic literacy and numeracy engaging. Some children receive additional support through tutoring, helping them catch up to school standards and regain confidence in their abilities.

Health and nutrition are equally prioritized. The NGO regularly organizes medical checkups, growth monitoring, and awareness sessions for children and their families, creating a 360° care environment.

The Heartbeat of Sustainability: The Gaushala

An integral part of TRY NGO is its Gaushala—a beautifully maintained shelter that houses cows rescued from neglect or donated by farmers. Here, animal welfare blends seamlessly with community empowerment and eco-conscious living.

The cows are cared for lovingly by dedicated staff and volunteers. Their milk is used to prepare meals for children and women in the center, while the surplus is sold in the local market to support the NGO’s operations. In addition, the Gaushala serves as a learning space where local women are trained in composting, organic farming, and the use of cow dung for biofuel—providing both economic and environmental benefits.

The center offers life skills training, English speaking modules, and even digital literacy programs to prepare them for real-world challenges. Parents are also engaged through regular meetings that encourage them to support their daughters’ ambitions and delay early marriages.

Together, the TRY team, the youth, and their families create an ecosystem where education becomes an enduring asset, not a luxury.
