Sat at Lodhi gardens in Delhi for hours for this one! (So tired!)

I love going to gardens to sketch from real life. Especially after last year and the lockdowns, being outside for hours is just special.

Delhi has many such scenic and historical places, and it’s a beautiful city in this way.

Here is the second batch of the sketches I painted during our little watercolor painting trip to Prague last month. We (me + @tekumushi ) were accompanied by the guys from @atelier-sento . on walking around the city and sketching whatever we felt like.

All the paintings were done in about 1,5h each.

Technical details:

Paper: White Watson 239g watercolor sketchbook

Pencil: Red lead 0.5 mechanical pencil

Lines: black 0.3 multiliner

Paint: 12 colors small Holbein set.

Today’s legislative assembly or Vidhan Sabha of Delhi was built when the capital of British India shifted from Calcutta to Delhi in 1911-12. A simple sketch of it, without any of the modern day add-Ons.

Of course, I cannot even compare the mood & intensity in the photo with what seems nearly childish in the sketch! (And drawing humans is nasty) But would this be an urban sketch or rural?
