He laughs at her choice of words, shaking his head. âNo hole, unfortunately. Iâm just always working or chasing after my kids, these days,â he lets out in a single breath, blinking a few times to allow his eyes from being blinded by the bright lights that had shone in his eyes.Â
âWhat about you? What have you been up to?â He asks. When she offers the shot, the manâs face brightens up, happily taking the glass and lifting it to his nose to give it a little sniff. And just a few seconds later, he mimics her, downing the shot. He reacts the taste, shaking his head, before setting the empty glass, ready to follow Ana anywhere sheâd take him.Â
âWhere are we going, again?â
âThat's exactly the hole I'm talking about.â Ana yelled through the music with a smirk on her face as she started to push through the crowd of people, her gaze set on the metal staircase. âJust follow me!â She said as she reached the staircase and walked up just to come to an inside balcony with couches and its own bar. She walked to one booth and slid in, waiting for Don to join.
As she sat down, she let her eyes skim the man in front of her once again to confirm that indeed it was him. âThere is nothing much about me. Living my beautiful life in beautiful New York.â She answered on the question he posed inside and she was too tired to yell through the music. âYou still in NYPD?âÂ
