âI think we can help you with more. Come on.â He said looking at him pointedly. âNo it doesnât have to all be on you. We are family right? All of us. What happens to one of us, happens to all of us. So donât do that bullshit its on you in the end.â He shook his head.
âIâm sorry what?â He said eyes wide. âfirst a porn star really?â He shook his head. âAnd then a Devil? I mean that sounds like the kind a mistake I make not you.â He said with a laugh.
âNo, Iâ m not asking you that. Because I know that answer to that. The question I am asking my friend. is does he want to take on the greatest responsibility of his life, that I am sure he didnât really get an option in.â He said. âI know you would risk your life for any of these fuckers. But I want to know is, do you really want to lead?âÂ
â
âCome on, Callum. Iâll let you guys know when i need anything, okay? For now, Iâve got this.â He really didnât want them all thinking he was incapable of handling most things; at the very least, he had to prove his worth if he really was intent on leading them all.
âYep.â In hindsight, with that dating history, Chris never came out good in his telling of it. âWhat can I say? I was blinded by her pancakes.â he shrugged with a chuckle, knowing exactly how that sounded.Â
Shaking his head slowly, the male knew exactly what to answer Callum. âItâs not like I have a choice. Who else is gonna lead if not me?â And there he was again, back to the question he had already asked countless of times to himself and to his sister. It wasnât like they had alternatives for the role, especially with his father pressing on him.

Ana pouted in Chrisâ direction before her lips twitched back into a grin. âNah, I donât believe you. Youâd miss me too much, I know it.â She gave him a nudge with her elbow right before her lips parted in an over exaggerated surprise. âHa, you wouldnât dare.â She forced a serious almost threatening tone with still the same sprightly glint behind her eyes.Â
When he started to talk about the future of the spa, Ana relished in the sight of the excitement spark in his eyes as he talked about it. And although she was unsurprisingly overwhelmed with everything that he has to plan and work out she was happy the rebuilding is slowly but surely starting to come into reality.Â
âActually I recently met an old friend that could help with the NYPD part. I donât want to promise anything, but I can surely ask him if he can push Sugar rub as a priority.â Ana proposed with a raise of her brow and questioning look. âAlso. Donât leave me out, I want to help with anything there is I could help with.â
â
âOf course Iâd miss you.â It was a no-brainer; it was clear that Chris was just as fond of Ana as she was of him (or at least, he hoped she was!). Narrowing hazel hues to her, he tried to push back just as much. âI could snitch on you if I wanted to.â Not that he would, but it was fun to joke about doing so.
The particular news of Anaâs friend further brightened his already giddy tone. âPlease do. Any little thing could help.â At this point, he was willing to do anything and everything to expedite the process of getting that damn file report. The NYPD was taking their sweet time, and it was starting to get a little annoying now. âAnd Iâm not leaving you out. Iâm trying to get everyone sorted for this. Weâre doing it step by step. You know Iâd call on you if I need you, right?â he countered, giving her a raise of his brow this time.Â

âYeah,â Peter said simply in response to her declaration of disbelief as she finally took in their current state. He was trying not to get too jostled by the crowd around them, easy enough for a guy his size, but he also feared that she would be bumped into and her shirt or bagâs tie thing would rip. She didnât seem the type to handle that well. Honestly, right off the bat he pegged her as a bit neurotic and maybe a bit⊠self-involved. Was it wrong to judge her from two seconds of listening to her? Probably, but Pete called âem as he saw âem. Still, at least she said pleased as she told him what to do.
âHold still, hun.â Peter said, being sure to keep his caught up arm still as well as he reached around to free the fabric of her shirt with a delicacy that may have been surprising to some. His work was very physical and most people only saw the aspects of it that required brute strength- throwing and hauling hoses, kicking down doors, prying apart car wrecks- but Peter was also a trained emergency responder. Not to mention he had taken great lengths to learn how to do all the delicate and intricate braids when he first adopted Samantha. Looking over the freed hem, Pete didnât see any obvious damage and therefore offered the woman a proud grin. âYour turn. I canât see where Iâm hooked on that tie thing without twisting my wrist all around.â He informed her.
âŠ
Just as instructed by the complete stranger, Abigail stood still with bated breath. Eyes squeezed to a close with a grimaced look on her pretty features, she hoped to God her blouse wouldnât be ripped. Really, she could dispose of it easily after, but she couldnât be bothered to have to go home and change when she had a bevy of appointments to attend to later on.
Fortunately, the man heeded her pleading request just as well, having successfully removed the stuck hem. With a sigh of relief, she carefully inspected the site, rather pleased to find that there wasnât much damage at all to the fabric, save for that tiny dot of a rip she was sure she could get one of Owenâs people to fix later on. âNot a bad job.â she mused, before turning to him now.
Returning the favour then, deft fingers untangled the scarf beautifully tied to her handbag. It, however, wasnât as fortunate as her blouse. âDarn it.â Managing to unhook his watch from the delicate fabric, a few seconds later, and he was free. âThere we go.â Upon close inspection now, she found the rip on the scarf to be bigger than she anticipated, though really, it was just an inch of a gash on satin.âAnd there we go.â she added, folding the detached accessory now, before thrusting it in his direction. âHere. As a token of my appreciation for not ripping my blouse, and a little memento for you to remember me by.â Not like she was going to have any use for it anyway.

Ferah nodded her head. Perhaps the male was tired of people trying to feed him all the good sides that came with rebuilding the spa from scratch rather than simply let him wallow in the sadness that came with his work and livelihood coming to an end right before his eyes. âYeah. At least everyone got out okay.â As far as she knew, there hasnât been casualties when the whole thing crumbled down but she hadnât been following the news too intently on it. Her eyes looked over at him as she tilted her head into a nod. âI know, the shooting was crazy. Do you think the people who did it will be held responsible?â She was trying to get information out of him without seeing too ignorant on the matter. âIâm glad I did to, and Iâm glad that you got out okay as well.â
â
âYeah...â Talking about Sugar Rub, though in the process of âmoving onâ, still made his heart hurt. Thus, his intent to somewhat change the topic. âOh, it really was. That shooting took everyone by surprise.â Though he wouldnât mention the fact that some people close to him got hurt; that could open a whole can of worms. âNot sure if the police even has a clue as to who shot who first.â he remarked casually, trying not to sound too invested in the whole thing as the line moved in front of them. âIâm honesty just glad no one died or anything. And to think it was such a public event, too. The casualties could have gotten really bad.â
dilanosman·:
Dilan was the type who would do almost anything for those she cared about and that meant she would gladly take time out of her schedule to get this spot ready for Chris and his boyfriend. After all, they had both gone through a lot as of late. âGood. Then youâve got yourself a deal, babe.â
Dark hues flicked towards Chris and a laugh escaped because the male would have obviously went directly to that assumption. âWeâre not dating if thatâs what you want to know. Weâre hanging out and having fun. So, itâs good.â She didnât see it as a bad thing.
A small smirk framed her lips when it peaked his interest. She had been dying to go see the penthouse sweet but her landlord knew it was only due to curiosity. âIt is really nice, apparently.â She said with a shrug of her shoulder. âOh, Iâm most definitely going whether you had invited me or not. Iâll try to snag a spare bedroom, too.â She winked teasingly at him.
â
The fact that Dil would take some time out of her day to ready the roof top for them was beyond touching. âIâm so lucky to have you. Honestly.â he cooed, peering to her over his sun glasses. He appreciated greatly the people around him, especially the ones who were truly proving to be loving and caring just as much.
Though the look on his features did shift to that of confusion and displeasure, and Chrisâ features said it all beyond words quite could. âAnd why arenât you guys dating? Boo.â He really was rooting for the both, and thought that they were rather a good match. âAre you guys enjoying each other, at least?â Wagging his brows playfully, he hoped the two at least liked each other that way.
A penthouse wasnât a bad idea at all, though it did depend on how good it is. âJust how nice though? âCause Gabe wants a spacious kitchen, and I want two bedrooms, and we both want a tub.â he said, listing off the features they really wanted in their new home. Their current place, Chrisâ apartment, was becoming too small for their taste, and didnât even have a tub.âSay, if this place is perfect, you might even get my realtorâs commission, just saying.â Because if Dilan found the place for them, then she might as well as get the earnings for it.Â
sheâs been writing for minutes now :/

âFor the love of god, Iâm starting to think you want me to get sick of you.â Ana shook her head in disbelief with the same smirk playing on her lips. She was ready to punch into his head that itâs impossible to get sick of him no matter how hard she would try, since her words did not have any effect apparently. âOf course they did!â She exclaimed as she waved with her hand but stopped herself, giving Chris a look. âI mightâve missed the message where they said it, but Iâm sure they donât mind.âÂ
With her hands on her laps, she started to correct her bandages on her hands and wrists as she listened and gave Chris a small nod. âIâm really glad to hear that.â She raised her glance to look at the male next to her and pressed her lips into a thin line. Hearing what Gabe had to go through she was silently happy that her gunshot wound was not as severe as to tie her to the bed with her leg up in a sling. Although just now training she realized that it will take months for her to be up and running normally again. âWhat are your plans to do next, then?â
â
âMaybe...â His tone was only playful, accompanied by a mischievous chuckle. Though really, if she was gonna get sick of him, surely it must have happened in the years they spent at Sugar Rub, seeing and working with each other every day. Her cheeky response earned an eye roll; she may or may not have had clearance to be working out again and exercising. âI ought to snitch on you for that.â he warned with a knowing look on his features.
Though things had been slow going in terms of recovery, well, it was still recovery; he would be thankful of it at every turn. âThanks. Weâre in the up and up.â The sooner they could move forward to the direction of ânormalâ, the better it was for them.Â
Thus, the prospect of tomorrow though, for him, had quite a picture in it already. âWell, Iâm planning on hounding the NYPD for the officially file report on the spa. I have some investors willing to stay put for the spa, while others need some buying out. I also have to give everyoneâs salary, plus arrange some work alternatives for everyone. At the very least, I have to make sure everyoneâs financially managing now. When thatâs fixed, then Iâll go on with rebuilding the spa. Emilie said she might have a location for the next site.â Chris was all too happy to talk about the future he had prepared loosely, in the chances of seeing them through.

âHi, handsome.â Anaâs face involuntarily formed a smile upon her features as her eyes spotted Chris. She chuckled with a light exhale, leaning backwards against the wall to get her deserved break after pushing herself and turned her head towards Chris. âYou stalking me now?â She teased with a smirk on her lips as she took another sip from her bottle before setting it beside her.Â
âGood to be on my feet again. Couldnât stand being at home anymore, but I promise I got my rest and I was healing properly.â She said quickly just in case Chris would doubt the fulfilling of her promise to him. âI hope you got some too.â She looked at him suggestively before continuing. âYou and Gabe are doing okay?â
â
âGotta. Told you you were gonna get sick of me.â he teasingly replied, as he shot her a playful, mischievous look. In truth, his nosy ass tracked her down and asked around for her usual spots. And though she claimed that she had rested enough, Chris remained doubtful. âDid the team give you an all-clear?â he asked, wanting to be a 100% sure she was in the clear for exercise. Â
âYeah, weâre doing good. Got some rest, but not a lot. Gabeâs alright though. Heâs slowly doing therapy to be able to walk effectively again.â the male shared, sounding like he was in a better mood than before. After all, he had since focused on wanting to work through everything, wanting to see the âsilver liningâ in most things. âBut yeah, weâre getting on and along.â
