Heavy Metal Astrology: Amy Lee, Jupiter In Scorpio
Jupiter transits Scorpio from October 10, 2017 - November 8th, 2018
There was always one particular question that plagued my mind, especially in the early days of my Evanescence fandom. Why is someone with so much positive energy in their natal chart singing about such dark and dismal topics? While it is true that there is a plethora of light energy within Amy’s natal chart, it all boils down to, in addition to quite a few strong Plutonian aspects, her Jupiter in Scorpio placement. It’s a huge part of her destiny to shine a light in the darkness. And since Jupiter will soon be transiting her natal placement (and her 5th house of creativity), I am undertaking something quite massive. I have gone through each individual Evanescence track (sans the instrumental pieces, obviously) and chosen a Scorpionic lyric from each one. Jupiter, in the most general sense, represents what we believe in. And there is a huge part of her that believes in the beauty of the night. So, in essence, this is what I want to capture.

Jupiter’s transit through intense and passionate Scorpio urges us to go after our hearts’ desires. As Jupiter moves through Scorpio, we learn and understand that in order to heal, we have to cut out the fluff and focus on what really matters to us. Because Jupiter’s nature is extravagant, we must guard against “too much.” Moderation doesn’t come naturally to either Jupiter or Scorpio.
Scorpio is a Water sign.
