the question is how was it possible [to use poetry] that for such a deeply complex and unified system of religious thought. how was it for such a system to be codified in poetry and not religious treatises, not complex works of philosophy (...) poetry becomes the codifier of social and religious in (personal) life.

and why is it poetry? because according to kaygusuz and many other authors poetry is where you can unify the visible with the invisible, you can use visible to refer invisible because things in poetry can have multiple hidden meanings and thats why they think that the poetry is the locus of this really deep thought. as opposed to this, you know, now modern idea of poetry or fiction as something that is not the truth.
