Since ao3 is having email difficulties, and the real world has been pretty chaotic lately, I’m extending the deadline to get your pieces in to June 1st. If you can get them in sooner though that’s great!

Since I know there are some people who joined this swap who are new to ao3 or haven’t posted a piece to a collection before, I thought I’d make a little tutorial.
Now I am using the dark mode skin so your screen might look different but it’s all the same.
First go to ao3, make sure you’re signed in, then select Post and New Work.
You’ll be taken to a page where you fill in all the info on your piece. For instance, the rating, fandom, any relationships (remember, a / between characters is romantic, an & is platonic), the main characters involved, and any other tags. For instance, this example has “Not Canon Compliant”, “Skateboarding”, “Fire”, and “Pirates”. If you wants suggestions on what to tag your piece I’m more than happy to help.
Next you’ll name your piece, give it a summary, and you have the option of adding author’s notes to the beginning and/or end of your work by clicking the boxes.
Now, since this is an assignment, it will appear. Select the box. You’ll also choose the piece’s language, and if there’s a work skin you want to add. There’s a specific Homestuck one for pesterlogs.
Then you can choose if you only want the piece to show up for registered users, if you don’t want anonymous comments, or if you want all comments to be moderated before showing up on your piece.
After that, select Rich Text and paste your work into the box!
Finally it’s posting time! I suggest clicking “Preview” first, though, just to make sure it all looks right.
Now, some of you will be posting art/images. Here’s how I do it.
Go to an image uploading site like nickpic.com, and click upload.
You’ll get all these embedding options. I chose the one underlined, “Full Image (linked) HTML”. See which one works best with your image.
Return to ao3 and paste the image link. Then click Preview to see how it looks.
As you can see, my image shows up and I’m happy with it. Now I can click “Post”, and wait until June 1st when works are revealed!
Alright a few tweaks had to be made, so make sure to check your emails incase you had a switch in assignments, and of course let me know if there are any new problems.
