I'm so sorry I've been missing again, this time for a longer period of time. It's been intense and hard for me, and some lack of feedback hasn't been very inspiring. I kind of gave up on endings (temporarily), but today something happened! Focus Entertainment mentioned my work on endings, and damn, I've been waiting two years for that! Honestly, I thought I was going to die of a heart attack (in a good way)

One of my favorite ideas is that in the future Lucas will learn to play the lute. Why?

Firstly, because of love to the De Rune siblings. We remember the moment in the Red City in which Amicia says that she would like to learn to play the lute and maybe someday she will. Lucas wasn't there, but he might have guessed. For him, learning to play the lute could be a way to at least somehow realize the dreams and desires of Amicia and Hugo. Let it be through him.

Secondly, in addition to being a way to at least somehow bring him closer to his dead loved ones, it could be a way to distract himself. Just like learning alchemy. Music is also a kind of science, and for Lucas this could be a useful practice. Sofia would probably have approved, and maybe even encouraged him to start learning to play the lute, because she also knew Amicia and Hugo well.

Thirdly (although this must be considered from the point of view of the player and/or the creator of the game), we can see throughout the game that strings such as lute and guitar are present or lead in Lucas's musical themes. “His” musical instruments are stringed ones, and therefore the choice fell on the lute - one of the most colorful medieval instruments.

The next step in the relationship between Lucas and Sofia is a difficult event - the funeral of Amicia and Hugo. I thought for a long time about how exactly to do this, and in the end I came up with cremation so that Lucas and Sofia could take the ashes of their siblings and bury them in the mountains. This may be subjective, but I found it interesting how Amicia and Hugo's attitudes toward religion change. The first part is obviously focused on Catholic Christianity, but in the second part we see the appearance of paganism, albeit a peculiar one. Amicia and Hugo are turning to Christianity less and less. Perhaps the kindness of what they saw on the island delighted and inspired them, in contrast to what happened on their native land.

To such an extent that Hugo's grave became a mound, and not a Christian tombstone. Something pure and original, natural, full of love and respect for life… Did they ultimately abandon God? Or did he give them up? Who knows why Amisiya decided to build a mound…

Obviously, Sofia could have predicted this decision.

However, Lucas and Sofia cannot take their bodies… And burying them in Marseille is terrible.

So Lucas, who had read about burning practices, suggested just that. At the time of the 14th century, cremation was prohibited by the church, but until the 700s and after the 1700s it was allowed, because it is not prohibited in the Bible. As for Lucas himself, I think it is obvious that he is not a follower of religion. Nature and science are the only things that can be something like that for him. That's why… the line between pagan customs and Christianity seemed to be the most correct option.

Thus, once Lucas has made a crutch for Sofia, the two of them burn the bodies of Amicia and Hugo. A terrible but symbolic farewell among the stars…

P.S. I am not a religious person and I do not want to offend anyone with these words, this is a purely personal opinion about the POSSIBLE development of the plot events. All religions are beautiful and deep.
