This idea had been in my head for at least a month. The concept is simple: during a merge, Kai throws himself into Monstrosity not alone, but with Morro. A sweet, toxic slowburn, built on forced trust and endless thirst. A thirst for at least a drop of peace, tactile contact, and rest. At the same time, with mutual hatred, which, however, develops into observing each other's reactions, and then into dependence, care, fusion. I love yapping about them, you know?

I like to think that Kai initially forgets who exactly he's with, and then, remembering everything, he suddenly stops. They're so doomed. By the way, in this au, they're yin and yang. Just keep in mind that at some point they'll find yin and yang amulets and exchange them. Doomed and betrothed.

Honestly, drawing this thing almost killed me, but I finally finished it. I love connecting them with the symbolism of the serpent eating the "forbidden fruit," and also with the crystal of worlds and the sword of the sanctuary. It's as if each of their aspects is equally refracted in the crystal's facets, and every enemy action reflected in the sword is their deepest understanding of each other. They really do mirror each other, I swear!
