Hello Prince Yves! I tried to make banana bread with choco chips for the first time! What do u think, does it looks good? If I am not being too bold may I invite u for tea and we can enjoy this together (ofc we can also invite prince keith, nokto, licht and definitely prince jin and kagari bcz they like sweets too.) [Honestly any prince that like sweets can come] I would really like to know your opinion on my first try!

I suppose it will be up to me to help find what kind of alcohol will pair best with the menu... perhaps a mandarin orange sake will go nicely with the banana bread! A brunch theme, if you will.

Can you tell me more about why it failed? Was it burned? Didn't rise well? Maybe dense instead of fluffy on the inside?

Will it be too bad if I say it was all 3 problems above together :( it was really dense, it didn't rise much and was burned (also it tasted super sour) 😭😭

I see... the density and being burned may have both been caused by the failure to rise.

Perhaps we can go over some basics, and you can tell me if there's anything you may have forgotten to do.

Feed your starter 4-12 hours before using it, so it is at peak productivity!

Use filtered, distilled, spring, or purified water. Chemicals and minerals present in tap water may kill the natural yeasts.

Use lukewarm water. It should feel tepid to the touch, a bit warmer than room temperature.

Do not over-proof. Letting the bread rise too much may cause it to collapse in the oven. Follow whatever recipe you are using and keep an eye on the dough. If it is in a particularly warm spot it may rise faster.

If it is cold outside, put the dough somewhere warmer to rise. Marble or granite countertops can be especially chilly. It is best to put the dough in an oven while it is off, with only the light on. You may also use a proofing setting if you have one.

Check for proper gluten development. The dough should pass the windowpane test where you can stretch it between your fingers till light can pass through without the dough tearing. If it tears, it needs to be kneaded more.

Any answers for what may have gone wrong in here?
