Today preachers all over Christendom will try and fail to explain the Trinity, something that simply can’t be explained to folks stuck in Aristotelian logic. To a people whose education rests almost entirely on the maxim A=A, the Mystery is always going to catch in the gears. To engage the Trinity, it is necessary to disentangle all unnecessary I/You division-distinctions in the system interface. Without the removal of that stumbling block, the Mystery will always be ‘somewhere else’: an intellectual exercise instead of a lived reality.

When people don’t even really try to perceive God as outside the gender binary, it’s even less likely that they are able to conceptualize a trinity of Being in unity.
