Human Limbs Mysteriously Emerge from Marble Slabs in Milena Naef’s Performative Sculptures
Days Inn | West Lafayette, IN 2015
I’ve been experimenting with writing very, very short stories made up entirely of the example sentences given for words in the dictionary, with nothing added except a little punctuation to piece them together.
The idea came about when I noticed that the sentences used in Dictionary.app (which uses the New Oxford American Dictionary) were either weirdly specific or unexpectedly poignant. Talking to a lexicographer friend, I found out that these sentences are referred to as ‘in-line example sentences’ and are editorially researched and written by lexicographers in order to demonstrate the most probable construction of a sentence including that word.
I’m writing a handful of these and illustrating them for a little zine for next month’s Zinefest, but I’ll share more here when it’s wrapped up.

How much money has LEGO made from each character property they license. Including the license fee they paid and how much it would cost to buy each set of that line of licensed toys.

Speaking of favorite logos, the Chupa Chups logo is another all time fav. Beautiful type. Shape designed by the one and only Salvador Dali. Radially composed, because it was designed to sit clearly on the top of the lolipop.
In the 1980s, owing to falling birth rates,[citation needed] an anti-smoking slogan "Smoke Chupa Chups" was tried to attract further adult consumers. The company’s current anti-smoking slogan is "Stop smoking, start sucking", with their packages parodying cigarette pack designs.
