In the last few years, yields have not been amazing for commercial real estate (CRE) investors. In some cases, property is generating ongoing returns as low as 2 percent, and in some countries and regions there is a risk of over-supply. For property owners, operators and portfolio investors, finding ‘nuggets of gold’ investments and improving yields are crucial. In many mature markets, such as New York and London, rents - both commercial and residential - have peaked. We are unlikely to see any increases for a while and something of a downturn may take place.
