              allie  is  fluent  in  sign  language.   she  learned  from  a  young  age  so  she  was  able  to  communicate  with  her  cousin  sam.   allie  tried  (  and  failed  )  to  get  sign  language  to  become  compulsory  on  the  school curriculum,   strongly  believing  that  it  is  a  skill  everyone  should  know.   while  mayor  of  new  ham,   she  offers  to  teach  those  who  are  willing  to  learn  as  a  way  to  make  their  new  society  more  diverse  and  accepting.
