A Lover On The Left, A Sinner On The Right.
INVOLVED:Â Nate Anderson & Phoebe Berry TIME FRAME:Â Tuesday Morning LOCATION:Â Equinox of Downtown LA. NOTES:Â Itâs business as usual at the fitness club where Phoebe works, that is until she sees Nate. After weeks of avoiding each other theyâre forced to speak.
PHOEBEÂ BERRY
Understandingly Phoebe nodded. They hadnât seen each other likely because she worked mainly mornings and afternoons. Nights were reserved for time with Chase or bar hopping with her girlfriends. âOh, I see. Well maybe thatâs why we havenât seen each other here before. I never work nights.â She threw in with a half shrug. In a way she was kind of glad they ran into each other. The fact that they hadnât spoke since that night was slowly driving her insane. But she knew trying to approach him about it was a terrible idea. The last thing she needed was for that conversation to turn into an argument of some sort. Even if the friendly facade was somewhat forced, at least they were still talking.
When he playfully accused her of trying to recruit him for her yoga class a wide, genuine smile appeared. Some of the tension visibly leaving the air. âAh, you caught me.â She teased back, throwing her hand up in defensive. âNo, no. Yoga doesnât strike me as your kind of thing. Although, itâs a good way to relieve stress and helps you sleep better at night, I wonât try to sell you on it.â She dropped her hands down to her hips. Very aware of the fact that she was still kind of checking him out. Glancing instead at his gym attire, she found that didnât help very much. âIâm glad you like it here, though. This gym is really great. The people are pretty awesome. Especially the trainers. And no Iâm not just paid to say that.â She laughed softly.
NATE ANDERSON
Nate laughed genuinely as things were starting to feel almost normal again -- whatever 'normal' meant for the two of them, anyway. "I can think of a few stress relievers that are better suited to me, if you know what I mean. Speaking of, though, I bet chicks would be all over a guy doing yoga," he mused jokingly. He found now that it was his turn for his eyes to flicker down to her lips as she spoke, almost getting distracted by them before making himself snap out of it. "Yeah, no, I really like it here. I'm probably sticking around. So you'll probably be seeing a lot more of me from now on," he said, figuring that she probably didn't want to be seeing much more of him that she had to based on their lack of interactions after what had happened between them.
He didn't really know what else to say to Phoebe right now. He wasn't about to bring up the unspoken, but he was a little curious as to whether or not she had come clean to her boyfriend about it. Of course, even he knew it was completely tactless to bring that up in the middle of a regular conversation in the middle of a gym. "So, uh... How are things otherwise? How's that boyfriend of yours?" he asked, hoping that was at least a kind of subtle way of asking. He didn't know why it mattered so much whether or not the fact that they slept together came up in conversation with her boyfriend, but somehow it did. "I'm not like, keeping you from a class or anything, right?" he asked, knowing he was technically at her workplace.
