Talents/Skills/Powers: Clara is an excellent writer although she thinks she could do much better if she really put her mind to it. She has trouble expressing herself out in public, but on paper or on her computer she is able to perfect convey her feelings. She doesn’t show a single person her work however because she feels it is very private. Clara is also very neat and organized which makes her very good at her job at the book store. Her manager absolutely loves having her around because of her wonderful work ethic and skills with organization. She has difficulties with the job at times however because she often finds herself receiving unwanted attention from males. She always feels bad about telling them no when they ask her out and it often gets her into trouble later on.
Past History
Hometown: Essex, England.
First Memory: She remembers going to the amusement park with her Mother on one of her good days. Usually she spent the majority of her time in bed, especially after Clara’s Father had left, but this day she had jumped out of bed and announced that she would have a day out with her special little girl. They rode all the roller coasters that Clara was tall enough to ride and ate Caramel apples, which caused Clara to get sick but she didn’t mind. Her Mother even won her a large stuffed tiger that Clara still has with her to this day. When they were going home her Mother told her that she was sorry that she had been so distant for so long and that things would surely change. She told her daughter that she loved her more than anything in the world and that she was her special girl. She said that nothing should ever dull her sparkle and she promised that she would never leave her side. It wasn’t long after that when her Mother went downhill and Clara had to go live with her Aunt and Uncle.
Most important childhood event that still affects him/her: She moved to London when she was twelve. Her Mother got sick and she went to live with her Aunt and Uncle and their two boys. She didn’t know it at the time but her Mothers illness was actually a severe case of Bipolar disorder that went into psychosis. Clara remembers seeing her Mother with blood running down her wrists, telling her young daughter that she loved her very much and she was very sorry that it had to happen this way. Clara wasn’t sure what was happening, but luckily a parent of her friend had been dropping her off and witnessed the whole thing. Her Mother was deemed unfit to take care of Clara and she was eventually adopted by her Aunt and Uncle. She loves the two of them very much and couldn’t imagine better parents, but it is difficult for her having a Mother that is so bad off. She never quite recovered from the psychosis and the doctors think it has to do with drugs that she took in an attempt to feel normal. Clara visits her Mother at least once a year, usually on her birthday. No one in her life knows about it save for her Aunt and Uncle, who she calls Mom and Dad.
Other memories/events that still affects him/her and why/how: When Clara hit puberty she found that she had quite a lot of attention from males. Many of them told her that she was quite pretty although she didn’t see anything particularly special about herself. She did like the attention that she got from it though and she didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings by saying that she didn’t want to go out with them. Some of the guys she found she quite liked and she always had a fun time with those ones. However, the trouble always seemed to come when they expected more than just kisses and cuddles. Clara knew a bit about sex thanks to her older cousin and she didn’t really like the idea of it in the least. In fact, the entire thing made her feel rather sick to her stomach. She couldn’t imagine why someone would want to have things stuck into their genitals for pleasure. She tried to pleasure herself a few times, but she only found it to be an odd feeling that she didn’t like. With the boys that she ended up dating she tried to avoid sexual intercourse but they always begged and begged until she let them have their way. The first time was by far the worst, but every time after that wasn’t much better for her. She found herself scarred from the whole experience and she wishes that she could just be normal and enjoy it for herself. She hates that she has to give something that she doesn’t want to give to people in order to be loved and cared for.
Past failures s/he would be embarrassed to have people know about and why: She feels a bit silly that she has never been able to achieve a true orgasm, although she is starting to accept herself much more as of late. She is also fairly embarrassed that she had sex with so many blokes when she knew she didn’t really want to and only did it because she knew that they wanted to do it.
Biggest role model: Kate Middleton is her biggest role model. In Clara’s eyes she is the epitome of class. She always dresses modestly, while looking absolutely gorgeous at the same time. She is also such a compassionate human being and she especially loves the work that she has done for mental health. Her greatest wish in the world is to meet the Dutchess someday although she doesn’t feel worthy of it. Â
Biggest disillusions from childhood: That she was different than other people. It didn’t really become a problem until she hit puberty and started to discover what sex was and it was around that time that she realized she didn’t feel the same as many of her peers. At an age where fitting in is one of the most important things a person can do, she found that a huge part of life for most was something she simply wasn’t interested in and more than that she was repulsed by. Who does s/he take after; mother or father? People have always said that she is the spitting image of her Mother and she is inclined to agree. She wonders if any of her features comes from her Father, who she never really knew.
Style (Elegant, shabby, etc): For such a young girl Clara dresses quite professional. She doesn’t like to be too flashy, nor does she like to dress in a sexual manner because it seems to make it worse for her. It’s difficult to explain how she dresses in words, but the best way to describe it is something a young professional or a young school teacher might wear. She likes to think that if she ever met Kate Middleton that she would tell Clara that she liked her outfit very much and that she has a very keen sense of fashion.
Jewelry: Clara doesn’t wear very much jewelry because she believes that too much can be overwhelming on a small frame like hers. She also finds that she is quite bad at keeping track of any kind of jewelry so she usually doesn’t bother.
Weapons:Â She would never carry a weapon; she sees no need for that sort of thing.
Health: She is fearful that she has inherited her Mother’s mental illness although she does a really good job of ignoring it completely. However, she fears that someday she will no longer be able to ignore it and she will have to be put in a long term care facility like her Mum.
Hygiene: She washes every day and usually washes her hair three times a week so it doesn’t get greasy. She trims her finger and toe nails once a week and the same day she does that she tends to shave her legs and armpits (she doesn’t bother with shaving her pubic region) She washes her face twice a day, morning and night and she brushes her teeth three times a day. She always carries floss with her as well as a bottle of hand sanitizer just in case.
Physical Flaws: As a human being she is sure that she has some physical flaws, but physical stuff doesn’t really interest her and for that reason she doesn’t really see any of them. As far as she is concerned she is fine the way that she is.
Physical Qualities: She has bright blue eyes and a rather narrow frame. Her legs are very long and her figure would best be described as an hourglass. She isn’t terrible curvy but she has enough to peak males interest. She also has long brown hair that has a slight curl to it when she doesn’t do anything to do. For the most part she doesn’t bother with it unless she has a good reason to.

Mannerisms/Poses/Movement: Clara is the type of person that would much rather blend into the woodwork then stand out and that is obvious in the way that she walks. She slouches quite a bit and tries to avoid eye contact with people unless she absolutely has to.
Describe their fighting style: Clara wouldn’t know how to fight even if she had to. She is very much the type of person to avoid confrontation at any cost and she wouldn’t know what to do with herself if she was sudden faced with any.
Habits/OCDs/Obsessions: She is a bit obsessed with her routines, especially when it comes with hygiene. She also has a habit of carrying a notebook with her wherever she goes and writing down things she sees. Sometimes if she can’t write at the moment she will leave herself a voice memo in her phone. Writing about things going on around her or talking about them on her phone does two things for her, it helps her take focus off any nervous thoughts that she might be having and it also gives her ideas for her writing.
Speech Patterns: Clara speaks in quite a posh manner and formal manner. This is partly how she was raised and partly because of the school that she went to. It was a prestigious sort of school that she got in because her Aunt was alumni of it. She quite liked the school for the most part because she tended to hang out with people who cared much more about their studies then they cared about relationships and sex.
Do they curse, and if so, to what extent? She curses very occasionally but it’s not something that she has made a habit of.
Write a piece of dialogue that this character might say (can be between someone else): “Honestly I’ve never felt more at home then I feel right here in this group. You lot are my family and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for accepting me the way you have. It feels so nice to know that each and every one of you see me and not just someone to have relations with.”
Describe their laugh: Her laugh is fairly low for a girl unless she finds something extremely funny then she will snort.
Describe their sleep patterns (light/heavy sleeper, no sleep, sleeps too often, etc): Clara is a fairly heavy sleeper. It would be difficult to get her up by shaking her or saying her name, but overly loud noises will wake her up. She sleeps about an average amount but part of that is from the sleeping pills that she takes every night. She has been taking sleeping pills for years now and it greatly helps her mood since she gets plenty of sleep thanks to them.
Describe their dwelling/house: Her house looks like it belongs in a magazine such as Good Housekeeping. The entire space is very white and very clean. Her Aunt has a maid that comes in every other day to keep things tidy and when she isn’t there her Aunt herself is straightening things up. It’s the type of house where they keep the sofas covered and there is absolutely no eating any food anywhere but the dining room or the kitchen as long as they are sitting down at the table. The entire place was designed by a professional interior designer and it’s meant to invoke a sense of cleanliness and order. It’s not the sort of house creative types would enjoy and Clara finds the entire space to be almost stressful. She enjoys neatness just as much as the next person, but it’s so neat that she is constantly afraid she is going to mess something up.
Describe their bedroom: Clara didn’t get much say in her bedroom and that is obvious to anyone who knows her well. Her bedspread is a tan color and her sheets are a stark white that reminds her of a hospital. She has a desk for school work and on top of it is her computer and a small cup of pencil and pens for any paper school work that she might have. The only bit of personality that she has in her entire room is her bookshelf which houses a number of classic literature that she absolutely adores. She also has a record player on top of her bookshelf with classic albums from the Beatles, as well as classical music that she uses when she wants to write. Looking at her room some would say that she was clearly born in the wrong century and she would certainly agree with that statement.
Describe their daily rituals: She gets up at six o’clock without fail and uses the bathroom. After using the bathroom, she takes a quick shower, where she washes her face as well as washing any sweat that she had acclimated during the night. After showering she puts lotion on her entire body and moisturizes her face. After that she puts on light makeup and then goes down to breakfast. Usually her breakfast consists of yogurt and some sort of fruit just because it’s easier to eat the same thing for breakfast every day. Her night and morning rituals are quite rigid, but she tries to keep things interesting for herself the rest of the day. Clara is a creative person and although she does need some structure in her life, she doesn’t want complete structure. She likes to at least try to break out of her shell and keep things fresh for herself, especially considering her night routine is very much like her morning one.
 Psychological/Personality Attributes and Attitudes
Intelligence Level: Like all humans Clara is intelligent in some ways and less intelligent in others. Socially, she can be quite awkward because of her lack of understanding of sexually things. However cognitively she is quite intelligent and creatively even more so. Her language skills in particular are off the charts.
Known Languages: English and a small bit of Italian. She tried to learn French as well but she was old when she attempted it and it didn’t quite stick. She would much rather be a master of English then knowing quite a few different languages.
Character's long-term goals/desires in life: Eventually Clara would like to help people who struggle with their sexuality find a place of acceptance. She would also like to have a book published and have it become at the very least a mild success. She isn’t looking to be the next JK Rowling but she wouldn’t mind having enough people read her book that perhaps she makes some sort of difference in the world, even if all it is that she made something that people thoroughly enjoyed and could take them away from their problems for a few hours.
Character's short-term goals/desires in life: Right now what she wants more than anything is to find a place in the world, although she is fairly certain she has found it. Saving that she wants to become friends with more people that understand her and her asexuality. She would also like to get a grip on her asexuality as well.
Secret desires: She desires to find love. She isn’t even sure that it is possible considering her sexuality, but her greatest dream is that she finds someone who is just as disinterested in sex as her and who she feels a real connection with. Someone who she can share her life with without feeling like she has to give away something that she doesn’t want to give to anyone.
How self-confident is the character? She is a little bit lost right now and with that feeling of loss she doesn’t have much self-confident. She is still growing into the person that she wants to be and with that is self-confidence but she isn’t quite there yet. She is marginally confident about her writing ability however.
How do they see him/herself? She sees herself as someone who doesn’t quite fit in with anyone and who is still trying very hard to find a place in the world. She also sees herself as a pretty good writer that has something important to say. The real question is how she is going to say it and if anyone will read it when she’s finished.
What is the character most proud of? She is most proud of finally allowing herself to admit who she is and start to go to a support group for those who consider themselves asexual. She is proud that things that she has said have helped others and it makes her feel good. At first she had difficulty talking to anyone at all, but now it’s one of the only places that she feels like she can speak her truth and she’s glad she got up the courage to go because it was a difficult step for her.
What does the character like least about themselves? She doesn’t like her lack of self-confidence. She also wishes that she could be more authentic in the real world and not just once a week at her support group.
How do they express themselves? She expresses herself through her writing mostly. Even when she is speaking at her group she tends to write things out first because her thoughts can get so shattered in her brain that she has difficulty speaking clearly if she doesn’t have it all written down.
Is this character generally dominant or submissive? Very submissive. She tends to let people decide things for her quite a bit rather than actually making any decisions for herself. It makes her feel frustrated most of the time.

Does the character seem ruled by emotion or logic or some combination thereof? She tends to lean towards being ruled more by logic than emotion for the most part. In matters of the heart she finds herself much more emotional but truth be told she has never been truly in love with someone.

Greatest Fear: That she will never be comfortable in her own skin and that her Mother will never get better and she will eventually lose her for good.
Biggest regret: She regrets not going to see her Mother more. She knows that it’s her own feelings of discomfort that makes it so she doesn’t visit often. Every time that she does come and see her Mother she lights up and staff says it improves her mood tenfold and it eats at Clara that she can’t do that simple act of kindness for her Mum more often. She just doesn’t know how to deal with any of it.
Musical talents/instruments: She was taught to play the piano by her Mother when she was young and she continued after she started to live with her Aunt, but she doesn’t do it nearly as much anymore. She is pretty good at singing as well, but it’s not something that she likes to do much.
Character's darkest/deepest secret: No one knows about her Mother’s illness except for her family. Not even her closest friends or people she has dated have been let in on that secret.

Where does this character like to hang out? At the bookshop that she works at or in the country.
Where is this character's dream place to live? She dreams of living in the countryside somewhere. She would love to move back to Essex in her family home, but that has been sold. She wants to live in an older home that’s full of history, something that has been around since the Victorian ages. She dreams of having a large amount of land so that she doesn’t have to deal with neighbors or noise and plenty of room for horses to roam. She would also like to create a garden that she would tend to herself and it would be filled with flowers of all colors and a fruit tree or two so that she could have fresh fruit whenever she wanted. She would also like to have a large oak tree with a swing attached like she used to have when she was a child.
What sorts of books are most likely to be found on their shelves? Her favorite books are from the Romantic Era. Things like Frankenstein by Mary Shelley or Emma by Jane Austen. She also quite likes Gothic Horror like Dracula by Bram Stoker or the Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde. She is also a big fan of Oscar Wilde’s plays such as the Importance of Being Earnest.
Mode of transportation: Clara hates riding in cars because she gets horrible carsick every time. She doesn’t mind coaches much, but even those can make her feel ill. She prefers to walk places or ride her bike. If she could hack it somehow she would ride horses everywhere like she did when she was a little girl, but living in the city prevents that. For that reason, she doesn’t care for the city.
Most prized possession: She has a first edition copy of Frankenstein that was given to her by the old man that runs the bookshop. He gave it to her on her fifteenth birthday saying that she was old enough to appreciate it and take care of it now.
Color: Yellow. Specifically, bright yellow, or the warm glow of the sun.
Clothing: Some say that she dresses quite old fashioned. She wears quite a lot of wool sweaters with button up shirts underneath. In fact, most of what she wears is layered considering how cold and rainy it is in England. She wears quite a lot of skirts that are just above the knee most of them pleated with wool tights underneath. She absolutely loves floral prints as well.
Place: Her absolute favorite place in the world is the bookstore that she works for. It’s an older bookstore that is ran by a sweet older man that was born around the time of World War II. The bookstore had been in his family for generations and had in fact been there before the first World War. There is an amazing amount of history in the bookstore and the books that are housed there are all rich in history. It used to hold newer books, but it has since become a store for used books and rare finds. There are quite a few of first editions of classics such as Pride and Prejudice for instance. Clara is the only one that works there along with the old man because the rest of the family has since gotten tired of it. He has promised Clara that when he passes that she will inherit the store because she’s like the daughter that he never had. It might be odd for her to say, but that old man is one of her best friends. She loves going to the store when she isn’t working and curling up in her favorite leather chair with a cup of tea and a book from the Romantic Era. Â
Room in the house and why: Her bedroom is without a doubt her favorite room in the house. It doesn’t have much personality because her Aunt doesn’t allow her to have much personality in it, but it’s still the place she feels most comfortable in. If she had a choice she would have her room much different than it is, but she would never complain to her Aunt about it because she think that would be rude.
Food/drinks: Her favorite drink in the entire world is without a doubt tea. She loves it with a lot of milk and two sugar cubes. She could drink it all day and never get bored of it. Her favorite kind of food is Beef and Guinness Pies. She loves any sort of meat pie as long as there isn’t pork in it. She also really loves stews.
Music genre:Â She mostly listens to classical music, particularly music from the Romantic Era. She listens to a bit of the Beatles as well and quite a bit of Showtunes. The showtunes that she listens to tend to be from older musicals such as My Fair Lady.
Movies/TV Shows/Performances: She watches quite a lot of classical films, but she doesn’t go to the cinema often because modern films don’t do much for her. She is quite picky about what she watches. However, she absolutely adores going to the theatre. There is nothing better to her then dressing up in her nicest clothing and watching actors work their magic. The first time she went was to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and she fell in love instantly. She doesn’t watch much television because she would rather read when she has the chance.
Book(s): She has a hard time picking just one book because she likes so many. The book that she has read time and time again is probably Dracula because she likes the darkness of it all. There is definitely a dark side to her personality that no one really sees and her choice in books represent that.
Subject in school: Not surprisingly her favorite subject in school is Literature. She can’t believe that she is lucky enough to actually spend her time reading classic works for a grade. The only thing she doesn’t much like is Shakespeare. It isn’t that she thinks he is a bad writer because no one can deny that he writes beautifully, but she can only take so much of Romeo and Juliet. In her opinion it’s not even his best work and it irks her that some people act like that and Hamlet is the only works he has. She thinks it’s all a bit overdone and there are other things just as good if not better that can be examined.
Animal: Without a doubt it would be horses. She grew up with a horse that was called Lady Jane and she loved that horse like it was a daughter. When her Mother got sick and she had to move to London she couldn’t take her horse with her because her Aunt and Uncle had no room for it. Not that they would have let her have it anyway.
Clothing: She doesn’t like anything overly revealing. She doesn’t see the point of it and she doesn’t like to feel overly exposed. She is a very pretty girl and she already gets chatted up quite a bit, it’s even worse when she is wearing anything that is considered revealing and she just doesn’t want to deal with it.
Place:Â She hates any places that are noisy and packed. It makes her very uncomfortable. The only exception to this is amusement parks. Â
Food: She can’t stand Brussel sprouts or most pork products. She doesn’t like overly salty food either, it makes her feel sick.
Music genre: She hates pop music, hip hop, country, and really the majority of music genres. It’s much easier to say what she does like. She listens to quite a bit of classical music and show tunes as well. She will also listen to oldies such as the Beatles, or things like that but much of what comes out today she doesn’t care for.
Subject in school: There isn’t exactly any subjects in school that she really dislikes, but she isn’t overly fond of Maths or Science. She can appreciate the clarity of both of them and working out problems can be thrilling for her, but she would rather use the creative side of her brain when she is at school. She likes questions that have multiple answers and that can be argued. With science and Maths not much can be argued.
Emotional Characteristics
Describe character's sense of morals: Morality is extremely important to her. She isn’t religious as much as she is spiritual but she does believe in being a good person. She believes in never harming another human being for any reason no matter what. She is the type of person that would sacrifice herself if it came down to her or another person because she couldn’t live with herself if someone came to harm and she could have stopped it.
If they could sum up the meaning of life, what would they say?: She is still trying to figure that one out and she isn’t sure if there is an answer to it. Right now all she can say is that trying to find the meaning of it all is her meaning. She wants to experience love and be loved in return as well as make some sort of impact on the world.
What do they consider taboo (something they personally would never do): She would never raise her fists against another person. In fact, she couldn’t see her ever getting into a fight at all, it just isn’t her style. She doesn’t even like hurting bugs.
Describe character's sense of self-control: She has quite a bit of self-control, some would say too much at times. She yearns to let loose sometimes, but she is afraid that if she does that she will somehow to get to be like her Mother. Most people say that she acts like an uptight middle aged women in a teenaged girls body. She wishes that wasn’t true. Even in private she is pretty rigid, although she does have a pretty great sense of humor that very few get to see.

How does this character deal with or react to
Conflict/Danger: She completely freezes when she comes around any conflict for the most part. Sometimes she will run off if she has the chance, but it’s most likely for her to simple shut down when faced when any sort of conflict. Her two cousins that she lives with are quite combative and can be rather abusive towards her and she has learned the best way to protect herself is simply not engage at all and wait for it to be over.
Rejection: She doesn’t get rejected much but that is because she is so afraid of it that she doesn’t do anything that would mean her getting rejected.
Fear: Just like with conflict and danger she freezes when she is fearful. Her cousins scare her quite a bit and she tries to keep out of their way.
Change: Change is scary to her because the last bit change that she had was moving in with her Aunt and Uncle who honestly treat her dreadfully. She knows that she can’t have things stay the same for her for the rest of her life and she doesn’t want that, but the fear of the unknown is a very real fear for her.
Loss: The only thing that she has truly lost was her Mother and even then it wasn’t a true loss because she is still there. However, she did lose the Mother that she knew and was replaced by a shell of the women she used to be.
Sex/Flirting: Being asexual for Clara means that she is actually repulsed by sex. It isn’t something that simply makes her uncomfortable or isn’t pleasurable for her, it is something that makes her sick to her stomach. She doesn’t find the act itself repulsive if others are doing it, although she doesn’t enjoy watching the act of sex in cinema. She doesn’t mind reading about it however, but it certainly doesn’t give her pleasure to do so. Â
Pain: She tends to keep her pain bottled up, particularly emotional pain. One time she had been so ill that she had to be hospitalized because of a kidney infection and the nurses marveled at how calm she seemed about the entire thing.
Stress: Clara is basically stressed all the time so this point she knows how to handle it quite well. Her obsessive planning and routine makes it so stress isn’t a horribly bit deal to her. However, if a plan goes wrong or her routine is somehow disrupted all hell will break loose for her. She simply doesn’t know how to handle it and she will freeze.
Peer pressure: It depends on what they are pressuring her to do. There are some things that she would absolutely never do such as smoke or do drugs. However, she isn’t peer pressured all that much because most people think she’s weird and leave her be. The worst of it is the guys that insist on hitting on her and quite a few have convinced her to have sex even though she didn’t want to. She will on occasion say no, but it’s easy to make her feel so bad about that that she ends up having to do it anyway.
Guilt: She ignores guilt for the most part. Any guilt she has is stuffed so far down that she has forgotten she is even guilty about it.
Being wrong: She acknowledges that a person can’t always be right all the time and she’s fine with it. She doesn’t like arguing with people so usually even if she is right and she knows she is right she will pretend to be wrong.
Being criticized: As a writer she welcomes criticism because it helps her become a better writing. Sometimes when she has put blood, sweat and tears into her work it’s hard for her to hear but she always remembers that it will only help in the long run.
Being insulted (superficially: name calling, etc): When she isn’t being insulted by her cousins who enjoy pointing out how much of a prude and how weird she is, she is being insulted by males that she has rejected. She has been called every name under the sun from males who think they should be able to get whatever they want and if rejected the girl must have something wrong with her. It used to bother her quite a bit but she is so used to the verbal abuse at this point that it doesn’t really phase her. She mostly just blocks it out.
Offending others: She sees this as one of the worst things that she could ever do.
Praise: Praise is like a drug to her, mostly because she rarely gets any at home. However, at school she is praised quite a bit and it’s the best feeling in the world for her.
Being loved: She is quite the people pleaser and it actually pains her to think about anyone not liking her. She craves love and attention because she doesn’t get any of it at home.
Being hated: Like offending others, the idea of being hated is the worst thing in the world to her. It seems a little odd that she is alright with being insulted but not alright with being disliked but for her those are two very different things. She feels like a person insulting her means that they won’t hate her and that makes it a little bit okay.
Humiliation: She does out of her way to avoid it. She has a huge fear of being humiliated.

 Anger: Clara doesn’t allow herself to get angry ever. If she did it would mean letting, go of the careful control that she works so hard to maintain. She has many reasons to be mad, but it would take something huge for her to express it.
Sadness: Sadness is one of the few emotions that Clara will allow herself to feel. In fact she tends to use sadness

Approval (of a person, thing, or idea): She tends to express her approval quite quietly. She will nod her approval and tell a person that she thinks that it’s a good idea, but she usually doesn’t expand on it. Most of the time she needs to be prompted to share her feelings about things. She doesn’t like to state her opinion if she doesn’t feel like anyone wants to hear it.Â
What does this character think/feel about?
Marriage: She dreams of being married to someone, but she doesn’t think it will work out. At this point Clara understands that there are other people like her, but she doesn’t know if a relationship can work without sex. Truth be told the people that she has been attractive to have been sexually people and it never worked out. She knows that she couldn’t give them what they wanted without it deeply affecting her and that’s not how she would want marriage to be.Â
Children: She longs to have children of her own, but she wouldn’t want to have them through traditional means. Her family comes from a modest background and she knows that nontraditional means of starting a family can get expensive. She has entertained the idea of adoption but she isn’t sure she wants that either. She also worries that whatever affects her Mother would affect any child that she had. She wouldn’t be able to forgive herself if she was the cause of a child’s suffering, even though it seems she doesn’t have the same affliction.
Family/Family Values: Clara doesn’t really understand family. Her Aunt and Uncle took her in because they were the only ones that would, but they never much cared for her. They saw her as a burden to the household all because her Mother couldn’t keep it together long enough to raise her own daughter. She doesn’t know what it means to belong somewhere or to be loved unconditionally. She would like a family of her own someday, but she doesn’t think she would like a family like the one she has lived with. She considers her group the closest thing she has to a family, but she knows that it’s different then the real thing.
Children/Youth: Children are precious to her. They are so innocent and pure, not yet hurt by the world around them. She relates to children quite a bit and in some ways she is very child-like and in other ways she is much older than her years. She very much appreciates her inner child though and she wishes she knew how to better nurture her.
Sex: She detests it. She is very much sex adverse. She doesn’t mind that others are doing it and understand that from a biological standpoint it’s important, but she would rather not have anything to do with it.
Love: She has always been obsessed with love, perhaps because her own life had felt rather lacking when it came to love. Clara loves to read stories about great love and imagine what it would feel like to have something like that in her life.
Friendship/Other relationships: Clara has always been a bit of a loner, her best friend is the older gentleman that she works for. Now that she has started going to the support group though she has found that she has a lot more friends. It seems that the major problem had been that she didn’t relate to a lot of her sexual friends and now she found people that understand it, which has made all the difference to her. She still likes to have time alone however, she values the nights curled up on the fire with a book and a cup of tea.
Homosexuality: There is absolutely nothing wrong with homosexuality in her book. As far as she is concerned it’s just a small part of a person and not an important one to her. If someone wants to love someone who happens to be the same gender, why should she be opposed? She has never felt a pull towards females herself, but she wouldn’t mind if she did.
The opposite sex: She has had crushes on people of the opposite sex before and it has all ended badly. Over the years Clara has grown weary of the opposite sex, which is another reason she feels she will probably never marry. What she has found is that most want one thing and if they don’t get it they get nasty. She has given them what they have wanted time and time again simply so she didn’t have to listen to them beg for it over and over again and it has always made her feel terrible afterwards. Even her own cousin has hit on her before, but that was quickly stopped by her Aunt when she found out. She wants to be understanding of the opposite sex and their motivations and she attempts to remind herself that not all men are like that, but it seems to her that the majority of the males her age are like that. For the time being she would rather just avoid the lot of them.
The same sex: She feels much more comfortable with the same sex, although once again she finds a hard time relating. A huge part of her problem is that many people her age tend to think of sex quite often and they want to talk about it as well, but she simply isn’t interesting in hearing about it. The things that she is interested in, most people her age aren’t and that makes her sad. She found it hard to tolerate girls her age gossiping about boys and clothing and things like that as well. Still, she wants them to accept her so she will at least attempt to fit in.
Drugs and alcohol: She would never ever do any drugs, but she doesn’t see the harm in drinking here and there. She certainly isn’t going to get black out drunk anytime soon, but she likes to have the occasional wine with her meals or beer on rare occasions. She has found that pairing certain wines with certain foods can be a really great experience.
Killing/Murder: Never does she think killing or murder is okay. She could never forgive any person for that, not even her own Mother.
Education: Education is extraordinarily important to her. She never went to University because she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do and she couldn’t afford it, but if she had she would have gone for literature.
What does the character want out of life? She wishes she had an answer for that, but she isn’t sure. She knows that she loves writing and that she hopes to find love, but a lot of that seems to be out of her reach.
What does this character consider "success" to be? Being a happy individual is what she considers to be a success. She knows that a person can’t be happy all the time, but it is something to strive for. She also feels like being your authentic self is also a great success.
What would  the character like to change in his/her life? Part of her still wishes that she could feel sexual attraction, but she is starting to accept that asexuality is simply a part of her and that there isn’t anything wrong with it. What she really would like is to find someone like her that she could spend her life with. That’s the biggest thing she would change, her lack of a partner. And she realizes that she can’t exactly change that on her own and that it’s out of her hands.

First crush: His name was Thomas and he was a very sweet boy. They dated for a bit, but they were young and it didn’t last very long. It didn’t bother her much though because she had more important things to think about at the time.Â
Best Friends: William (The old man who works at the bookstore). She used to have a best friend called Rose, who she had been friends with throughout Sixth Form but they drifted apart when she got married.Â
Friends: She considered all the people in her support group her friends in one way or another.Â

What kind of person would s/he consider to be the perfect partner? Someone who would be alright with just staying in and reading together. She doesn’t always want to be talking either, sometimes she would like to just lie together and let the silence speak for itself. She also wishes for someone who is asexual like her. Personality wise she hopes for someone kind, patient, and caring. Someone who is a good person and will treat her well. She also dreams of someone who shares her love for reading and maybe even her love of vintage things but she feels like that might be asking for too much.Â
What do they consider to be a romantic setting/activity/date? Her dream date would involve just her and the other person, no one else. She loves winter, it’s her favorite time of the year and to her it’s very romantic. She thinks sitting in front of a fire, cuddling each other for warmth and talking about their thoughts and hopes and dreams is the ultimate romantic activity. Throw in a cup of tea or hot chocolate and it would be even better.
What did they do on their first date? She had been only fourteen at the time and had already started dating Charlie the way people dated at that age. Their first date outside of school was at the cinemas and they saw a horror film even though she hated horror because she didn’t want to risk making him change him mind by saying she only liked horror in classic literature. The date itself was alright, he held her through the scary bits and she liked that. There was a sex scene in the film however and she hated that part, it made her cringe more than the scary parts. When he dropped her off at home she had her first kiss with him and that part he liked as well. They broke up a few months later because they were young and didn’t have much in common.Â
How does a normal date go for this character? She doesn’t really have normal dates anymore. It’s been years since she’s gone on a proper one and she’s given up on the idea.Â
How would they like to propose or be proposed to: She wouldn’t like a big show full of tons of people that she doesn’t knows. She would want it to be much more intimate then that. She wants it to be just the two of them in the place they feel much comfortable in with sincere words of affection.Â

Describe his/her sex life: After hitting puberty Clara found herself the object of a lot of male’s affection. A lot of them wanted to date her just because she was hot, not because they actually wanted to date her. Most of them thought she was a little weird, but they wanted to have sex with her. It started with just a few people, but word got around that she was easy to get into bed with and that was somewhat true. It was very easy for the wrong sort of guy to guilt her into sex. She always felt sick about it and she hated herself for doing something that made her so uncomfortable with little reward. She thought it was just because she hadn’t really wanted to do it that made her feel so terrible, but there were times that she tried doing it with people she actually liked and it was the same story. She knew it was odd that she didn’t feel the same sort of sexual attraction that her classmates felt either, but it took her a great deal of time to realize her sexuality. The way she figured it out was by doing a great deal of research on the internet and when she finally had a name for the way she was feeling she was almost relieved.Â
How often does this character have sex: As little as possible. She is often coerced into it, but she has gotten better at not getting herself in situations where she is. It got infinitely easier for me to avoid it when she finished College. Now she spends most of her time in a bookstore where most people who comes aren’t interested in flirting with her.Â

She feels sick to her stomach, overwhelmed, drained, disgusted. She just wants to take a shower afterwards and scrub all the evidence from her body.  She hates everything about it, the smell, not feeling in control, everything. The only bits that she likes is the cuddling and kissing before. She wants to feel close to someone, but since she feels no sexual attraction and actually has an aversion to it she doesn’t know how to be close to someone.Â

Describe their first sexual experience: She was about sixteen years old and she had been dating Charlie for a few months. She liked him quite a bit and she found the kissing and cuddling to be quite enjoyable because it made her feel connected to him, but she felt no pleasure from it. She knew that was weird from her experiences talking and listening to other people, but she didn’t try to over analyze it. Charlie wasn’t the nicest guy around and he really wasn’t patient with her about having sex after a while. He made it clear to her if they weren’t going to have sex that he wasn’t going to stay around so she finally gave in one day. They hadn’t planned for it, or at least she hadn’t because if she had she probably wouldn’t have gone through with it. Charlie was very much into it, but it just felt uncomfortable to her. It wasn’t the type of closeness that she liked. It was messy and painful and it felt wrong to her. After a few more times of having sex with her he dumped her because he said that he couldn’t be with someone who was so terrible at sex, even if she was really hot.Â
How has this affected the character, if substantially at all: It has had a huge impact on her. She thought that she had to have sex in order to get a person to stay and she thought that she had to be good at it at that. She started doing a lot of research in order to become a better lover, which would eventually lead her to realize her sexuality, but at the time it just helped her live a lie better. She wasn’t all that convincing though because her heart simply wasn’t in it and she lost a lot of guys over the years. For a long while she felt like she was losing her sense of self as well. And she is ashamed with herself for giving in to things that made her feel uncomfortable all so that she could feel close to people.Â
