Faustine Entered the Alley
" The rats aren’t so bad. The people, I avoid as best I can….a-and….I k-kind of carry a knife….a-all the time." | Allowing herself to be distracted by the scruffy kitty-cat for a moment, Faustine continued on. | " …I usually stay pretty high up, in the areas where the floor’s falling through … I’m good at climbing and stuff."
"I see…Well if you are in the same situation basically and you did offer me tea, I guess I can share this pizza. Its not like I can eat that much of it anyway." He pulls a slice out and gives it to the cat before sliding the box closer to her.
" ....Th-thank you..." | Blushing and oh-so-daintily taking a slice of pizza for herself, the waif found herself a bit embarrassed. And then, of course, remembering her lack of an introduction. | " Oh, I'm Faustine....y-you can call me 'Stine or Fausty, though..."
[ Are you...? // andhalftheloafofbread ]
" I’m sure my grand-mère would be honored to here that the things she made look pleasant….” | Ah. Had this boy mistaken Faustine for a ill-remembered acquaintance? That would explain why he was on edge. In her case, she would be more able to try and soothe his nerves…although her own could never unfrazzle themselves, thanks to his vocal and facial resemblance to a dead boy. | " Although I do apologize if looking at my cloak cause you to remember things that leave a bitter aftertaste. I have another one in my basket, if you’d like me to switch them out."
♗| It might’ve just been him, but her appearance was rather ironic: all the blond could think of was that little Baskerville girl…Lily, wasn’t it? He gives a very gentle sort of smile towards the female, though. “It really is a work of art, with how lovely it looks! I mean, I’m not a sewer, but I know someone made that cloak with a lot of expertise!” He sways on the heels of his feet, letting out a soft hum as if to tell her it was alright. "No, no, it’s okay! Keep it on. It’s not that bitter, to be honest. I haven’t spoken to the person I saw who wore a cloak like that in awhile…her name was Lily. She looked a bit like you, actually."
| Someone who looked like her? That made Faustine want to laugh. She was too fat, too plain to resemble any relatively normal girl, as far as she could tell. This Lily girl was probably cute, and thin, and very much a child. She was likely to be beautiful in the right setting. Faustine was....frumpy, as her mother often said. | " Oh, I doubt I resembled this Mademoiselle too much...I'm quite a bit too pudgy and plain-faced to resemble anyone with so cute a name."

Faustine Entered the Alley
" My father never talked to me and my mother was always pawning me off on my grandmother. " | The waif gave a shrug and smiled cheerily. | " B-Besides, I seem to be in your personal quarters, so I felt it was only right to offer you something to cover my misconduct…" | A laugh, like glass shattering. | " I live over that way, so I thought I’d cut through here. I didn’t know you were here, though. " | As soon as she said ‘that way’ she gave a jab in the direction of several ramshackle and condemned buildings. …hey, they gave shelter. |
He stares at the buildings with something like disgust. “You are aware that the local gangs like hanging around in those right? Not to mention all the rats that are bigger than my friend Mousy.” He gestures to a ragged cat sitting on top of the wall above him.

| Lost? He…thought she was lost. Sighing and thrusting the bottle of tea outwards, Faustine swayed on her heels a little. | " I am not lost. …Would you like some tea? …I-it’ll help wash down that pizza." | The girl started fidgeting again. She knew she would be forced to explain herself momentarily, but what mattered now was being nice to the person she’d intruded upon. |
"…You go up to random strangers and offer them tea?" He takes the bottle anyway because he loves tea, she isnt gonna get it back. "Didnt your parents tell you not to talk to strangers?"

Faustine Entered the Alley
| Click-clack, click-clack. Faustine had slung her bag over her shoulder - oh yes, the cute one that looked like a wicker picnic basket - and was attempting to loosen the bow tightly ensnaring her neck. Schools here were much different from the schools in France. Of course, her mother had to find a way to dump her in a foreign country, just to get her out of her sight. She had no Grand-mere any longer, no one in France to cling to. So, the best plan? Send her far, far away. Deciding to cut through the first alley she saw as means of getting “home” - a nearby abandoned building - the scent of food hit the urchin’s nostril’s. Pizza….mmmm. The clacking of her shoes sped up before completely halting. Would it really be right to approach someone without offering them something? Rummaging in her bag for the bottles of tea she had, Faustine pulled one out and just kind of awkwardly stood there, holding it. |
He pauses in munching on the first slice when he hears the clack of shoes, a girls stands there with a bottle in her hands. She looks nervous. “Are you lost? I can take you back to the main street if you want.” Luckily the pizza box could fit in his bag if she was lost.

Faustine Entered the Alley
It was a nice day, the sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the scent of pizza wafts from a nearby alley. Kuro had managed to find a whole box of fresh pizza because some stupid person had forgotten to say no mushrooms and tossed the box in response. So he was happily benefiting from their loss.

You can tell how dangerous a person is by the way they hold their anger inside themselves quietly.

| Hungry. It was roughly the only sensation the staggering, hazy-eyed urchin could still register. She wasn't cold, she wasn't tired. Merely numb and half-starved. Faustine sighed. She knew she still had a split lip and she knew her nose to still be bleeding - all in all, she'd look rather rough to anyone who encountered her. She just happened to have a habit of - even when starving and half out of her mind - climbing into trees. She had so cleverly crept, mouse-like, onto a piece of property she knew she should not have entered. Now, her question was, could she stay there undetected? |
