How Simply Acknowledging Another Personâs Pain Can Help Them More Than Telling Them to Cheer Up
Today I lost someone I looked up to, Anthony Bourdain. He was so confident and had the most amazing job. I always wanted to be that confident. Growing up watching his shows and reading his books, going to the places that he recommended. He opened my eyes to many cultures and places. â€ïž
Things I learned this Week
1) Trust your first gut instinct reaction. Donât try to change it. 2) Listen to yourself, donât let others try to change your stance on a situation. Self awareness is everything. 3) If a situation keeps reoccurring in your life it means that you need to learn a lesson. Donât fight it but take a different approach. 4) Donât worry so much, things will work out.

Art
Growing up moving to different cities, houses and different countries, art was the only thing constant in my life.Â
As a child, I was very good in science and art. My favorite class was art. I used to get Aâs and I used to draw every day. It was my escape. One day my grandmother told me that drawing and art were for crazy people. â People who draw every day end up crazy.â As a good innocent kid, I stop drawing completely. She was coming from a good place. She didnât want art to be my career and my life due to the underlying uncertainties of being an artist. But I didnât want to make art my career I just wanted to draw. It was my refuge. Â
As Jim Carrey said â "What you do in life chooses you. You can choose not to do it. You can choose to try and do something safer. Your vocation chooses you.â
Your vocation chooses you, you donât get to pick your vocation. Â Jim Carrey: I Needed Color from JC on Vimeo. Â #jimcarrey #ineededcolor #talkingtomysoul

Best interview I have ever seen! I learned so much from this genius!Â
You can train your mind to choose what you think, and not allow thoughts to come up randomly and hold you in their grip. The thoughts that are in the trained mind are their by invitation and choice. You can turn away negative thoughts, saying no to them over and over. You can learn to substitute higher thoughts and words. You can learn to refrain from thinking those things you do not want to think.
