Growing up my mum had this table in her room as a desk. When they moved to England my parents sawed the legs off, and sat around it with friends and cigarettes and vodkaââquite a bit apparentlyââthen they gave it to me and it lived at the end of my bed. I wrote the portfolio of work that got me accepted to university at this table. Itâs been in my old room for a few years while I was moving around London a lot but recently I brought it to my flat and having it here is such magic; itâs amazing thinking about how every mark on this wood is my family, sitting around it for all these years, and how we get to continue that. Right now, itâs my workspace đ€

hildegard von bingen wrote âwe cannot live in a world that is interpreted for us by others. an interpreted world is not a home. part of the terror is to take back our own listening. to use our own voice. to see our own light.â she wrote part of the terror is to take back our own listeningÂ
andrei tarkovsky said âit is my message that it is impossible to pass on experience to others or learn from others. we must live our own experience, we cannot inherit it. people often say, âuse your fathersâ experience!â, but thatâs too easy, we each must go through our own experiences. but once weâve got it we no longer have time to use it. and the new generations rightly refuse to listen to it. they want to live it, but then they also die. this is the law of life, its real meaning, that we cannot impose our experience on other people, or force them to feel suggested emotions. only through personal experience do we understand life.â

you can do this. stop sabotaging yourself and your dreams. there will be risks, there will be stress, but go on and actually pursue what you want to do. you will not regret having tried, all things considered. self-doubt can destroy so much of your life. donât let it, please.Â
Bell is taking its outrageous grab for internet control to the CRTC tomorrow.
Itâs scary â Bell, Cineplex, Shaw, and Rogers are trying to censor the internet and force the end of net neutrality in Canada. And worse, theyâre trying to do it behind closed doors.
These 4 companies, led by Bell, are pushing to create an internet âblacklistâ of certain websites that all internet service providers in Canada would legally have to block. They know this outrageous proposal would never pass, so first, they tried to sneak it into NAFTA negotiations â and now Bell is expected to introduce its proposal to Canadaâs telecom regulator TOMORROW.
Critics are calling this move âunprecedentedâ and dangerous. If these companies get their way, this internet blacklist would have absolutely zero oversight in the courts. We need to stop this urgently.

A long time ago I got an ask asking if I could show whatâs in my pencil case and I really put it off for the longest and might have forgotten about it too lol.Â
Anyways here it is! I use Copic markers in place of things like Mildliners or whatever your preferred highlighter is, but someday I plan on getting a pack of Mildliners because the colors are similar to my Copics but they donât bleed through pages :|
I also use .38mm Muji pens and a .5 Muji mechanical pencil, and look at how small the stapler and tape are! I got those in a little pack from Daiso Japan.Â
