shot glass dessert

people say don’t ask questions to which you don’t want answers

but you never liked to listen

you asked how many since you

i felt your judgemental eyes on me

you knew how bad it must be

if you had to push so hard for my answer

eight in one month, i said defensively

i jumped to explain though you deserved no explanation

that was a year ago now

and i know you no longer care

but i feel the need to tell you

i gOt my ninth since you

and he’s the Perfect ten

and i don’t ever want to look for eleven
