SPOILERS FOR MANDOLORIAN SEASON 2 EP 13
Okay, so everyone is freaking out about the new episode and yeah, it was good! When Ahsoka showed up, I was like- “Aw cool! They actually did that!” It was nice to see her. But it sorta did what I was worried about in that it seems to be almost shifting from “An expansion about a new character called The Mandolorian” to “Watch the Mandolorian interact with famous characters”. It was great to see Ahsoka, and I’m NEVER critical of “Star Wars” (it’s space battles, it’s fun!) which is why I’m sad that I don’t feel the hype over this.
This show is absolutely amazing and I wish I could feel the excitement that everyone else is feeling, but I kinda groaned when she name-dropped Thrawn. I immediately thought- “No, no, quit while you’re ahead!” And now I’m seeing that she’s looking for Ezra? But I...I don’t really care too much to see that. I’m focused on Din’s story and right now, I feel it’s slowly becoming- “Star Wars characters you know and Din Djarin”.
The episode was fun and well-written. I loved the stuff between Din and Grogu (i cant believe that’s his name, I’m gonna call him Grogy now) but I’m nervous that they’re going a little overboard with the Rebels and Clone Wars stuff. Maybe it’s because I haven’t finished either show. I WANT to be super hyped but I just loved it when it was all new characters and new worlds and such.
This, however, should not make you feel deterred from liking this! You SHOULD be excited! The Star Wars fandom is so toxic and I’m glad to see it seems to finally be agreeing on how awesome the show is. Maybe I’ll come around to this and maybe it’ll be really well done!
