“No, no, no, I was re-reading old letters. Thought I should refresh my memory on what exactly is expected of me. There’s one or two useful bits of information in them, isn’t that shocking?”

Andromeda blinked. She couldn’t tell if Bellatrix was kidding, but she could hardly believe her sister would study up on what was expected of her. After a momentary pause, she nodded, smiled, and agreed: “Shocking.”

She remained silent for a bit longer than she wanted, only to pipe up with, “What are you getting Cissa for Christmas?”

“What have you been reading, Witch Weekly?”

“Mum’s letters, actually. Yours look to be quite the opposite of hers, although I’m assuming you aren’t writing to me. That could explain it. And I’ll have you know I’ve never read Witch Weekly in my life…. Except for that one copy I flipped through while I was out at the shops, but that was only because there was a long line and I was bored!”

“Why do you write to mum? You can see her any time.”

“I’m not judging. Everyone’s done it.”

“Hey!” Andromeda rolled her eyes at her sister’s dramatics, catching the parchment as it fell. “I’m both boring and school aged, what else would you expect from me?”

Bellatrix shrugged. “Better? More interesting letters containing intriguing scandals worthy of such an important family?” She rolled her eyes and laughed. “I don’t know. I’ve probably been…reading too much, I don’t know.” Bellatrix sat near her sister and leaned on her elbow.

“What have you been reading, Witch Weekly?”

“Only when it’s…” Bellatrix took the letter from Andromeda’s hands. Scanning the page, she sighed dramatically in disappointment. “…Boring, school-age bullshit. How anticlimactic.” She dropped the letter over Andie’s head and paced a few steps away.

“Hey!” Andromeda rolled her eyes at her sister's dramatics, catching the parchment as it fell. “I’m both boring and school aged, what else would you expect from me?”
