Pat and I are both on summer break and with that, we sometimes find ourselves looking for something to do. Luckily, we both enjoy cooking and so, to kill our boredom - and to be STRONG INDEPENDENT DOMESTICATED women (kidding) - we've been taking culinary classes!
Our classes were held at Marmalade Kitchen, a restaurant in The Fort that also has a small studio kitchen that offers cooking classes to people of all ages. It's a walk-in class, but to be sure, contact them the day or hours before!
The instructor is Chef Aileen Anastacio who graduated from CCA in San Francisco. She was such a bubbly and lovely teacher and gives amazing tips!
The first three sauces we were taught: Bolognese, Putanesca, and Arrabbiata. Each took around 30 mins to cook, so they were done first.
The finised product of bolognese!
Arrabbiata - my favorite!
Carbonara! After learning how to perfectly cook one, I discovered just how fattening this amazing piece of heaven on a plate is... huhu
We each got to eat all 10 pastas afterwards, and I must say... I'D NEVER BEEN SO SICK OF PASTA IN MY LIFE. Hahaha. After 5 pastas you just wanna... stop. But ah, this is probably how the judges at food competitions feel so I shouldn't complain
I definitely learned so much during our pasta cooking class, and I can't wait to go back for the others.

And yes it has been a while! I don't have any excuse for not posting except, well... i've been busy. And lazy. I haven't had the time to actually sit down and type.
Life is totally different in Manila (obviously), mostly in terms of convenience. I miss being able to have no plans for the day but still being able to be productive because everything is a train/walk away! Nevertheless, I'm still so happy to be home and saddened by the fact that my time will always be temporary.
